I also used a reflection filter to lower rt60 so this sound has minimal reverb to tape. The cable i used was made of canford hst cable and has neutrik xlr connectors.

Recording of a courtyard garden fountain in the abbey gardens in bury st edmunds, suffolk. Recorded early on a sunday morning to minimalism unwanted sounds of people!. This particular recording was taken a bit further back from the fountains to try and achieve a more ambient sound, capturing bird song, light winds, distant traffic and park keeper activity.

Modern noise - a quiet kitchen at night in an urban surrounding, and the constant sound of a big samsung fridge. Very distant tv sounds and voices. Recorded with a blue yeti on the floor (omnidirectional mode i think), cut to make it loop cleanly and boosted up a bit with goldwave. I kept it short (less than 2 minutes) to make it easier to manipulate in my video editor timelines. Hope someone finds it useful.

Playing tabletennis on a nice sunny day at a playground in leipzig. The table is pretty old and made out of metal and concrete. The net is out of metal. Sometimes the ball hits it with a "pong". Recorded with a zoom h2 in 360-mode. Edited the mics pointing to the table a liitle louder and used very little noise reduction to reduce the wind noises a bit. Kids roaming around and the balls are flying! *sigh* i love those days.

I decided to bring my wind chimes inside and recorded them with an mxl 910 microphone into my computer using a focusrite scarlett 18i20 interface with the gain turned up a bit. I then chopped 15 samples i liked from the entire recording and formatted them into a make noise morphagene reel containing 15 splices. I am very pleased with the results, especially when patched into clouds or using an eventide space pedal for example. Enjoy!.

Man, this is extremely old! so old that i actually had to pitch it down, because my voice was higher back then, lmao. I literally just growled into my mic and added some paulstretch and reverb, and then pitched it down a bit. It's meant to be like a monster or demon being angered or awoken in an indoors area or something like that.

The soundscape at the bottom of the dried moat of arundel castle in late spring. There's a strong breeze running through the trees, crows calling, an aeroplane, a couple of flies buzz past. I was laying in the sunshine about 10 meters away, falling asleep :). Sound devices mixpre3 and rode svmx, bit of low cut applied (60hz, 12db/oct) and a small amount of higher frequency boost to compensate for the wind cut i had fitted.

The blofeld pitches up and then scans the wavetable (via mod wheel, so it's fun), which plays out what you hear here, plus a fair bit of outboard verb. Sounds like a vocoder but it's not. As opposed to traditional samplers the pitch is independent of the playback rate / length of the sample.

Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. Recorder: edirol r-09, 48khz wave/24-bit, cropped with cool edit pro, re-saved as 48khz wave/24-bit and compressed with flac. No other pp. Edirol r-09 settings: low cut: off, mic gain: low, agc: off. Non-functional tube radio warming up, making a loud 60hz hum with lots of harmonics. As a bonus it clicks off at the end. Zenith consoltone. Only because the faq says so: electro voice n/d 257a through impedance transformer into crappy gigabyte motherboard realtek high definition audio. 16bits, processed at 32bits. Audacity sound editor and/or driver wouldn't record mic level so it was very noisy after amplification. Filtered with a (mathematically equivalent) fft constructed whopping 64k length zero phase filter (blackman window) with 5 wavelength width bandpass at each harmonic from 60hz to 5,520hz. For some reason a fraction of some of the harmonics didn't get through so did another pass on the residual noise and mixed that in. Near the beginning there was a sort of brief duplicate signal that descended in pitch so it didn't make it through the filter. I added that bit in. Attenuated frequencies above 3. 6khz because they are pretty much noise, but removing them didn't sound right. Cleaned up the beginning a bit in various ways, cut it down to 15 sec and carefully appended the unfiltered "click" onto the end, which i denoised 12db with audacity's noise reduction.

This is another spoopy long background music type thing i've thrown together with pitch shift and time stretch and echo. This one is a bit long to sit through and feels to me like it often needs more space in it, but i have no idea what i'm doing so i'm stuck with what i've got. For background creepy mood stuff there are definitely some good 30ish second stretches in there that are different enough from each other to suit somebody somewhere though, i'm sure.

Rain & distant thunder around 8pm in warren, michigan (suburb of detroit). Recorded on a zoom h1n. Some faint traffic sounds & a bit of white noise coming from an air-conditioner unit. Zoom h1n was placed in my porch light compartment about 2 feet below our rain gutter. Most of the original hour long recording was ruined due to wind gust, but i edited it down to the only continuous 11 minutes without the gust of wind.

Line samples from a casio ap-45 on the default grand piano patch. Samples every c and g from c2 through to g8 with the sustain pedal down. Velocity is pretty aggressive and it doesn't sound quite in tune to my ear. Feels like it's a little bit out. You may want to tune these yourself, if you plan to use them for anything significant. No post processing done, so it might be worthwhile to normalize the samples out, if you're planning on putting them into a sampler for playback.

A walking recording, starts off with a very noisy garbage truck, then all sorts of other street sounds in east village, nyc. Ends with me entering my apartment building through a double door. Explicit content starts at around -2:00 where a guy wants the *whole* world to hear his drama and he uses some explicit language while i'm waiting to cross the avenue to my building. File also edited a little bit for time.

Then the snap of the top of the feeding container, and closure of a cabinet door. Two cats (bowmore and munro) the former near and the latter further away then transition to eating wet food. Recorded with the zoom h4 xy microphone pair in 24bit 48k wave, then converted to flac in audacity with a bit of amplification.

File i recorded while at work on a telephone pole. I found a span of the steel cable they string between the poles that hold phone lines or cable lines. But this was just the bare span and nothing touching it. If you hit them with a wrench they make weird laser gun sounds. Recorded with my phone and cleaned up a bit in audacity. Use as you please. This is a completely custom kick i made from scratch using a drum synthesizer and also mixed and edited with a waves puigtech eq modeled after the famous pultec eq and a waves puigchild compressor modeled after the famous $30,000 fairchild compressor. The sample rate is 24 bit/48k and a headroom of -6 or 3db i cant quite remember but nonetheless more than under clipping. Autumn is here and, to me, one of the most soothing of fall sounds is the wind blowing through the leaves of one of my favorite cottonwood tress, along with the lazy, nap-inducing sound of a propeller-driven plane slowly floating through robin-egg blue skies. This recording may sound a bit raw, because of the wind, but, i think it is nice to listen to. This was recorded using my handy zoom h4-n recorder and the microphone that i used is my trusty rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone.

I was just messing around with audacity again, this time slowing down my recording like a tape record, which not only stretched the time, but also turned down the frequency range which resulted in pitch shift. I stumbled around a sound that sounded like a huge horn exhaust - like those war pipes from celtics. So i experimented a little bit and made this one. Original recording was mono (but recorded to stereo track), however i added a reverb effect which created a nice stereo reverb effect. Feel free to use in games :).
