An early spring bird-recording trip turned into a surprise, steady rain. (*actually, it should not have been a surprise, i just was too lazy to check the weather before i went out exploring nature!). I set up my zoom h4n recorder partially under a picnic table and recorded this wonderful, peaceful light rain falling in a small field of very large white pines, which were growing on a penninsula of a small lake. I used audacity to record this sound with no editing. I used turtle beaches x12 to record. The sound was from an old antique wind-up toy mechanism (music box) that was made in japan. I covered the metal with my finger to change tone of the song. The song played on the music box was called "close to you". Acid bass: 110 bpm c2 note, not your typical saw/square basslines. High sweeping filters in parallel sampled in ableton using massive, compression using psp compressor2 and psp warmer. Random presets, and very little other effects used, mostly so this sample can be re-sampled. 110 bpm so it can be pitched up which is usually better then having to pitch samples down.
