Recorded at wallington (national trust property), near rothbury, northumberland, uk, on iphone as video. Audio stripped from video using audio hijack pro, encoded as wav.

Here's one from a series of 'clang' sounds, great for impact moments in trailers & commercials, or to layer up with other sounds. They are somewhat high-pitch, so they might mix well with low frequency drums and impact sounds. Recorded with tascam dr-40 built-in-mics, by hitting a railing with a pipe in a stairwell and adding a little bit more reverb in daw.

Recorded using only an android phone and 'recording machine' app. The recording was made on the metal jetty at london greenwich a minute or so after the ferry had departed. The sound is of the metal plates of the walkway rubbing together as the jetty gently rises and falls on the swell. Eerie and atmospheric. Strangely quiet considering it was recorded in a major city.

Scenario: dog is given a treat on a tempered-glass dinner plate, which he licks clean. Plate remains on the no-nap outdoor carpet, unnoticed, because it isn't terribly important that it be picked up right away. I took this sample into melodyne and moved all of its frequencies into "c" range. This gets rid of harmonics and makes the sample well-suited to use as a musical instrument. I prefer the original sample for some purposes. Unprocessed, it has a richer sound. And i also truncated to get rid of a tricky bit i couldn't fix. And i combined stereo tracks into mono, since that works better for an instrument where one wants to control panning inside of a composition. So as a pure sound effect, i recommend the original. This version is just useful as an instrument.
