Recorded at close proximity with a sennheiser 416 microphone, to a sound devices 552, in a residential, fully attached house, with minimal noise and background but natural ambience and reflection, from a large (bed)room.

Xy stereo recording from gärdet subway station in stockholm. This focuses on an older trains doors, various steams and similar "heavy" sound elements. In post: edited in pro tools with som bass cutting (eq) and automation to make some sounds stand out but still sound realistic. Put on a light compressor and pich-shifted down some elements to give more depth. This was in someway inspired by "dead space" tram and door sounds but slightly less "massive" and haunting. Ps. There's 2 versions of this recording. The one with "nr" in the title is noise reduced so sounds like the doors and steam are somewhat separated from the background. Hope you like it.

This ambience was recorded on zoom h6 with msh-6 mid-side stereo mic capsule. Recording was edited and decoded. Mic was positioned right in a frame of an open window so that it won't get flood from a heavy rain and pick up much room reflections. My flat where i recorded from was on 4th floor. There was a busy street 50m far from the apartment building itself, a bit further there was a park. Rain at that night was heavy. Also you can hear several heavy thunder hits of various distance throughout the whole recording. Hope this recording will help to enhance the sound of your next project. Two sustained voice samples i subsequently pitch shifted and layered for an ambient work (to achieve an 80's choir pad effect). The key is almost in middle c, but slightly off. . . Because i can't sing. The second, lower voice sample was recorded extremely close to the mic to achieve clipping; i wanted to get a buzzy, boomy sound out of it.

Stereo field-recording of early morning (ca. 7:30 am) traffic on a rainy weekday in the little english town of goring-on-thames. The street is quite busy with traffic and has been mic'd close-range, giving quite a wide stereo image. One can clearly hear the rotten weather this clip was recorded in.

A freight train passes from right to left, as i was standing far too close to the tracks for my own good. I don't recall which train this was, only that it was a firnature company. Recorded on the afternoon of january 03, 2019 in jamestown, nc using an iphone 5 and sennheiser ambeo smart headset.

Kittens: the screeching of 3 week old kittens is very distinct. Real kittens can be heard here. It is high-pitched and a “close-up” of these sounds coming from these tiny creatures. By overlapping some of the screeching it creates the illusion of more kittens. A slight purr can be heard which comes from the mother. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.

Purring of cat: this sound is extremely distinct. It is an up-close recording of the vibrations emitted by a cat when they are happy. It is an accurate representation because an actual cat was used to record this sound. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg. This is a great sound if you are looking for an extreme specific purr unaccompanied by other noises.

Tying shoelaces: a close-up listen to a very subtle sound when two pieces of string is being tied around each other. You can hear the fumbling of hands swooshing the string around each other and a harder sound of when the knot is being pulled so that it doesn't come loose. Can be used for dramatics and overexaggerating. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.

Field recording of diamond lake a few hours before a storm hit that forced all boats to dock. This is in late may of 2022. On a hike at the north end of the lake, i stood at the edge of the water and held my recorder close to the growing waves.

This sound was made purely with audacity and my laptop microphone. I basically moaned into my microphone then used paulstretch with certain settings then slowed down the speed. It sounds like something adjusting or breaking far away. Feel free to use without credit.

This is actually an odd sound my thermos makes when i don't close the lid properly. I guess it could be used for all sorts of abstract things, like ants talking to each other, alien sounds, organic things in general. It's just air going through a thin space. Feel free to use, no need to attribute, but i'd love to know where it went.

A backpack opening, the fabric rustling. Could be used as an inventory sound in a game, or just as a cloth sound. This is one of my first sound recordings and is how i got into recording. Recorded 8th may 2018 with a samsung galaxy tab a. Edited four times in audacity, with the latest being the 21/04/2021.

Clipping did occur on some transients for a few milliseconds (0-4 ms) on the strike due to mic' proximity (3 inches). Mic' used: samson c01 usb.

These are the ambient sounds of a sailboat underway. You hear the sounds of wind-filled sails, the tugs on line, and boat parts movement as the boat is moving through the water under a steady wind. You can hear when the boat changes direction from being close hauled to more down wind. The zoom h4n digital recorder was used in collecting this sound. Enjoy.

A close-up stereo recording (3 meters) of a freight train idling then passing by. You can hear the train slowly accelerating more and more, until it is going by at very fast speeds. After the train has gone by, the train can be head in the distance. (sound was recorded using a mzr-700 md recorder and a sony ecm-ms907 microphone).

This collection of kitchen sound effects was captured on a tascam dr-07. I carried the recorder around the kitchen opening and closing drawers, the refrigerator, and clattering/clanking plates and silverware. I even did a water pour into a drinking glass. After recording i edited the sounds in protools using a variety of compression and limiting plugins. I hope you find this useful.

I got caught in a freak rainstorm whilst hiking a bit ago, but luckily had packed my h6 in my bag and was able to get some good little rain snippets! there's some super close sounding droplets hitting leaves, some wider pouring rain, and a bit of hand-held noise unfortunately, but i figured there's a little something for everyone here!. Recorded on zoom h6n with xy 120 degree pair.

Recording of myself walking through olvera street over in los angeles, unfortunately arrived when everything was about to close down so it's not as busy, but something to note, i wasn't still, i walked through the street so music and people talking are passing by quicker in the recording and the occasional footstep from myself can be heard. Small field recording of the singing bridges in tejo river shore, lisboa. It can be heard the metal scrapping coming from de bridges that serve as points of embarking for the boats that cross the tejo river between lisboa and cacilhas, close by waves splashing against the shore and boats sound signalling. Recorded with zoom h4n internal mics. February 2015.

This is merely the sound of a cd case opening and closing (if anyone is interested, it was the cd for the ending theme of the cross ange anime, sung by eri kitamura, though that doesn't change the sound. . . )this kind of snapping sound can also be used for little things opening and closing. I used this sound for a medicine cabinet sound at one point.

Hitting a half-full insulated klean kanteen water bottle with various objects. First short set with my fingertip, second set with the side of my varnished tin starbucks coffee mug and the third set with the side of a standard 3/8" plastic sharpie marker. According to my synth, this is extremely close to, if not spot-on with a d-natural (294 hz).

Found a big bush covered in white flowers with loads of bees buzzing all over it. Some good buzz noises here but unfortunately quite a bit of mic handling noise and the sound of the leaves brushing against the mic as i pushed it in close to try and stir up the bees a bit. Luckily i didn't get stung!.
