Field-recording for kadenze course introduction to sound and acoustic sketching. Recorded using zoom h4n, 16 bit, 44. 1 khz. Trimmed, normalized and faded in and out. Also slightly low-shelf filtered to remove excessive wind noise. Recording made in city park in ottawa, feb. 17, 2017. Sounds include bird calls and snow-removal equipment.

I was waiting for a person inside the conservatory of venice and i decided to try some field (or better room) recordings. There were two chinese students talking to each other, some passerbys, an elevator and people reharsing and studying music. Recorded with a zoom h1, low cut in audacity.

Realised to my dismay that this sound was not available. A card tapping and scraping on a ceramic plate. Designed to imitate the noise of cocaine being cut up. Recorded on a tascam dr-40 in a 4m square kitchen. Tea towel was placed under the plate to cut out an excessive noise from the plate itself. Recorded with a low frequency cut off at 80hz.

This is a field recording, done using a zoom h6 with attached stereo mic. The limiter (general type) was activated on the channel. This is the raw recording without any eq or dynamics added. A quick normalization gave a nice, rich signal that you might be able to use for any purpose. Apply a low pass filter to cut out the rain. Well, enjoy. :). More of this will be uploaded.

A simple sine wave beep running through soft saturation and modulation, then being exported deliberately at 8khz and 8bit to simulate the low quality of a phone call. Use this as a standard beep sound coming through a phone speaker. The latter half is a little faster to enable a simulation of hanging up or the call being rejected.

This monstrosity is what i got when i attempted to add a reduce vocals effect to an episode of an old low-budget nickelodeon show from the 90s. It was quite windy and the rain hit the windows really hard. The wind tinkled the lamp. I recorded this sound by positioning a rode nt1 a few decimeters away from the lamp. In an antique store in laconner, washington i saw a old black desk rotary dial telephone. I dialed the numbers 1 through 0 and recorded them on my cell phone. A sound of a metal knife and fork is the main sound and in the background we can hear the typical sound of a cafeteria with a lot of people. It was in the lunch time and the sound have high frecuencies due to the metal contact and middle-low frecuencies due to people talking.

Believe it or not, this is a recording of a hospital reception bathroom. Recorded in mono on a samsung galaxy s10+ so the quality isn't the best, but i did some eq, some processing to make it sound more stereo, and some metallic convolution reverb, but other than that this is basically the sound as i heard it.
