Home recording of my story when working in tokyo. One day i went to a record store and came across an album with a cover picture of my home street in the uk that reminded me emotionally of home and now 20years later reminds me of that afternoon in a record store in shibuya.

My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad. This was the second clap for carers in the uk, which took place at 20:00 on 2nd april 2020. The focus was on showing appreciation for the nhs and other key workers. This is a version of the sound that (if you're over 25) you can hear. It's called mosquito. They've been using it as a silent deterrent in the uk to clear streets of teenagers. . . Hmmmm.
