Quick sound utilizing a chip bag searching and then re-rolling the bag.

Several very satisfying pops of large plastic bubble packing. Not bubble wrap, these ones are much large, about 20x as big. They are more like small balloons. Some nice crackling plastic rustling sounds in there too, why not. The first one is a bit hot, but i turned down the mic for the other ones.

This is a patting sound that was done by puttings a half puffed bubble wrap on a glass table and recorded in a soundless room.

Un unedited sound of re-opening a candy bag and reaching into it for a piece of candy.

Foley punches created with a leather football wrapped in a shirt, recorded with twin akg c-214 condenser mics at 24bit / 96khtz.

Clean sounds of twistling a 3/4 full dark chocolate bar (200 grams in full) in it's plastic wraps. Lastly there is a pure snap of one choco piece in half, which is just awesome. The chocolate is moderately thick (approx 1 cm) and it is originally meant for baking.

It is an sfx sound of unwrapping a chocolate, its also when i use that same paper to close the chocolate.

Recorded with sennheiser me67 to zoom h4n as a mono track at 24bit/48k. Mic inside wrapped up news paper tapped with a pencil. I read about it and found when layered with punches and other hits, it gives the hit a nice little kick in the sub-woofer.

I unfold a piece of paper several times to get different effects. The idea i had here was someone recieving a letter and quickly open it curious to read what it says. Or perhaps a treasure map of some sort :).

Originally contributed by freesound user juskiddink, this series of two blasts on a finnish birch bark horn has been shortened and tightened for use as a ring tone. It's a long, organic and haunting two-tone call echoing in the forest night; a clear alternative to the mechanical and tightly musical ringtones out there, and one i like a lot. Edited to wrap nicely for a continuing repeat.

Recorded inside a home freezer. At 35 secs the sounds of cracking open or unwrapping something frozen begin. The freezer hum is very audible throughout. This is an under water recording of some bubbles. I filled up a laundry bin with water, stuck a sennheisser md21 (dynamic omnimic) wrapped in a plastic bag in there (under the water level). I pumped bubbles from the bottom of the bin through a bicycle pump. Gear used: md21 -> m-audio dmp3 -> terratec ewx2496. Completely unprocessed, 2:43 of 24 bit 44khz wave. Submission for the earthfirewindwater contest.

Scenario: dog is given a treat on a tempered-glass dinner plate, which he licks clean. Plate remains on the no-nap outdoor carpet, unnoticed, because it isn't terribly important that it be picked up right away. In the meantime the wrapped-up power cord to a shop vac falls to the floor, right next to it. As i walk by i accidentally kick the electrical plug, striking the plate. Woww gotta record that. . .

I bought a portable sw radio for about £2 from a local flea-market, hoping to pick up some interesting radio stations from around the world and maybe some "spy" numbers stations if i was lucky. Had a quick scan this morning and stumbled on this nice clear station, sounds russian - most likely the end of the broadcast and wrapping up with a repeated code to indicate end of transmission.

A collection of sounds, recorded at the fast-food parking lot. An uncommonly-warm day in the great north, the window was partway down so there is an outdoor ambient background. Straw is unwrapped and stuffed through the plastic lid of a drink, making its characteristic shriek. Remembering when as kids, four of us would sit around a table before the age of masking, and work the straws in the lids to generate a racket, i did that. This could be used as a cartoon-ish engine start failure, sounds like an old fiat. Then the crunching of a paper bag as a decadent burger is extracted.

So i recently got a new portable recorder (sony pcm-d100). Early one spring morning, i could hear a woodpecker crystal clear from inside my room, with my noise canceling headphones still snug on my head. So naturally, i did a lil ambient recording. Since it was spring, the rich chorus of birdsongs made it, in my book, a freesound-worthy file. I didn't process this very much, except wrapping it around near the end so it could seamlessly loop back, and eqing it to bring out the birds more and soften the mic-noise. In case you're curious, it's a pileated woodpecker!.

It's coming closer (run!) is made in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. I started off with the drumbeat i made and things grew from there. Found this spooky eerie sound with a lot of reverb and also a screwed up clock-sound. I wrapped things up with a line in a retro bass-sound. Could be perfect for an intro, outro, something spooky and cool, mysterious or whatever you feel like. . . . Let the imagination run wild. This is the latest homework i have done, for this one i imagined this:its as if you were hearing from the ears of the person in the cashier spot, at a busy restaurant, this person gets caught in a time wrap and they start to like trip on these sounds from the kitchen, the stage across the bar, and even them turning a page on their boring magazine. One friday night, me and my partner were eating dinner, and we both heard a click. She perks up, "what was that?" and i said "the dryer is running, probably something in it" and she goes "no it was inside" (our dryer is like a back door outside porch kinda deal). I noticed it came from inside as well, in the kitchen, but mentally shrugged it off because lasagna. But now i know she heard it inside too, so i walk in the kitchen where the sound came from and don't see anything moving or on. I took note of where my cats were in case anything was being chewed on: one in bed, one on the couch, they aren't chewing on anything or are even near the clicking sound, so back to dinner. About 45 minutes later, dinner is wrapped up, my partner is asleep and i start turning off all the lights. When i turn the kitchen lights off, there is a light that stays on in the corner. I have a car battery recharger there: it has usb ports in case ya lose power, charger cables, and a flashlight attached on the side. . . . Which is on. I turn it off: exact same click that i heard earlier. Do i have a ghost?.
