Hard rain with loud thunderclap. Thunder in the distance.

A flash thunderstorm in queensland came about randomly in the afternoon and i thought it would be cool to recorded it. I recorded it under an awning since i didn't want to get the recorder wet and the awning was acting a little like a wind tunnel so there's these high pitch wind noises too. Plus thunder in the background. Was recorded on a zoom h5. With the limiter turned on. Forgot to turn it off since it was spur of the moment.

Recorded a near lightning strike using a vive surround sound mic and an h4n zoom recorder. The audio file was edited in adobe audition. The surround sound effect should play in any dolby surround sound system. This was my first attempt.

Lightning strike very close to our house - within 1/3 mile. The neighbors were out watching and you can hear their reaction. Recorded with sony pcm-m10 internal mics, sitting on porch roof. No editing other than fade-out.

Recorded using a zoom r 16 and a shure sm 81 mic, the only problem with the sample is me saying baap re(which means o my god) at the end, which fortunately can be edited out, the sample can also pass as a gunshot :).

The thunder from a single bolt of lightning, recorded in johor bahru, malaysia mid-afternoon october 2022. It hadn't yet started raining when i recorded this. The recording device was the inbuilt stereo microphones of the zoom h5.

Recorded in ny at 4:20 pm with a sound devices mix pre-3 and an audio-technica bp4025 microphone (with a rode blimp windshield). One hour and 14 minutes of rain, howling thunder, and an occasional bird. The file was edited and lengthened using goldwave and audacity.

Regular and continuous rumbling thunder. I stood at my back door and recorded the storm as it rolled by. No huge thunderclaps or lightning strikes, but a steady stream of flashes and rumbling that followed. If you need a prolonged active storm backdrop, this is it. Recorded on a tascam dr-40. A strong crack of thunder recorded late at night on friday january 10th 2020 in a small midwestern town. Equipment used: sony pcmd100 using the internal microphones. Pretty strange to still have this much rain and mild temps in january. . . It feels more like march.

Recorded in my backyard with rode ntg-3 / dead wombat on zoom h6 recorder. Starts off with one decent short clap of thunder, but mostly rolling low rumble thunder and some rain here and there. Some of the rain drop sounds are sharp off of metal, some is just lightly hitting the ground. Some nearby trees blowing add to some of the ambiance.

Some electricity flashes.

Rode nt4 -> maudio delta1010lt, capturing a lightning strike that made the walls of my house shake, and forced me to turn off my computer. The lightning occured ~167 meters away from the microphone, calculated from the time lapse between the initial dc spike and the start of audible strike. Clipped quite a bit, had the input slightly too high, but did not expect one to hit so close. A picture hanging on my wall shook violently when this one hit.
