I think this sounds a lot like the slate in prince of persia before it falls. It would work well in a game which is why i gave it a creative commons 0 license like my other sounds. Enjoy!.
Squealing sound that switches between the left and the right speaker channels, making an eerie, metallic, and slightly distant effect. Ambient recorded from an acoustic contact pickup attached to the metal cover of an hp pavilion desktop computer tower. Featuring natural computer fan and harddisk sounds.
Hitting radiator with fingers and scrapping over with a metallic object (car-key). Additionally amplified, notch-filter and accented subs. Results in a interesting sound scape. I've started to save my files in pcm format (instead of acm) because there was additionally quality loss. Recorded with a ultra cheap microphone unit of my mp3 player. Reduced noise.
It's supposed to be the sound of something hitting something metal, but it was made with the sound of me whacking a metal pipe with a pencil and a bit of editing on the computer.
Multiple takes of dropping a metal lid from a container onto a wood floor. Some takes have a nice rattle as the lid vibrates after impact. Recorded using an akg c414 b-uls microphone into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools.
A metallic pad with lfo weaving in and out in amplitude/filter. Includes some lfo modulation, so some peaks are longer than troughs and vise versa. Used in an experimental scene to symbolize birth. Recorded with a roland groovebox self-sample utility straight to wav, which is pretty good sounding. Though i've found this method results in reduced high frequencies.
Just one of a bunch of shoe hits on a metal trash can. I used a home-built contact mic made from a cheapo piezo. This was fed into an h4n and edited in pro tools.
Taking apart a stone wall next door and loading it into a dump truck to be sold for building materials. The recording is in the nature of self defense. This is one particular concise crash. Recorded on a canon s21s. .
