The very unique call of the cuckoo recording on may 23rd, 2015 in southern illinois. This "singing" sounds like nothing else in the forest. They are not very common in this part of the country, so, i am very very fortunate to have captured this primal call on " tape ". Equipment used: marantz pmd661, with stereo samson co-2 microphones mounted on a tripod about 4 feet from the ground. I was set up on a trail on the edge of a large forested area which eventually leads down to a huge lake. Recorded around 6:30pm on a mild evening--partly cloudy and temp was 74 degrees.

This is a snippet of perth's majestic bird life. The birds that feature in this recording are black cockatoos, and it was taken at the kensington bushland reserve at dusk. These birds are tribal, have incredible energy, and are extremely communicative, and hearing them squawk is one of my favourite parts of living here.

This historic "flute clock" (orgeluhr) is a precious mechanical clock, with a small organ is combined. Given time to hear music from a pen-driven roller. Many find the sound of a prop-plane flying lazily very peaceful --- especially if it is a late summer day against a blue sky on the edge of a forest. Even though i was actually on an outing to record the birds of the deep forest in summer, this plane came right overhead and, well, here it is. The ocassional soft chirp of the birds adds a nice touch. Recorded with my zoom h4n recorder with the internal microphones set on an input volume of 75.

I recorded this sound at the nagarhole tiger reserve in karnataka, india. The sound is recorded on my iphone 12 pro using the dolby on app. There are unfortunately some minor unwanted sounds in the recording caused by things like someone moving in their seat. But it’s a nice ambient recording to use if you are able to edit around it. The recording was done at 7:30am.

A recording of the creek mühlgraben in the bavarian forest on a trail from the village rettenbach to the peak schopf. Occasional birdsong can be heard, as well as the rustling or falling of leaves in the wind. The recording was taken at an idyllic spot where the small creek flows over pebbles and around rocks. The recording was made on 18th october 2022 at 11:52 am with my huawei p10 lite, no additional processing was applied.
