Raw sampled xlive. Exe on a hungarian windows 7 64-bit computer using audacity. The reason why it's only 11khz in frequency range is becaue 44 100 hz makes the sample too high pitched. Also had to make it mono because most of the sound was pushed to the right.

This is (roughly) what in-train announcements in germany sound like! i recorded myself with an iphone 6, then added an eq- and a distort-effect in audition, to really capture the awful microphones used in the trains. This is a very quick and dirty lo-fi recording of a very unsettling noise i am currently hearing outside of my 2nd story bedroom window. I have no clue what it could be. I have lived here for over a decade and never heard this sound. It's like wind, but it keeps fading in and disappearing again. When it starts, it sounding like very rapid, almost whistling, shallow breathing. I can't imagine what is making this sound, but it's pretty unnerving, and i'm too creeped out to open the curtains. I'm hoping someone can recognize this and tell me what this is because i'm starting to get very uncomfortable after about 10 minutes of hearing this on and off again. I am attempting to record it as it happens, so i've got several recorded instances of this if you want to hear more of it.

Sound is a short clip from a microcassette field recording of my next-door neighbors talking outside. It has a seemingly young girl exclaiming "he looks like a damn prick!" and then some other things i don't remember or couldn't discern. I have no idea what they were talking about. . .

I took another sample from a malfunctioning arcade cabinet, this time giving off a repetitive droning hum. Listening to it without context, i imagine being in a control center containing heavy industrial computing machines.

Some sound i accidentally made while recording something with my webcam mic. If i recall this was a sound i made after sipping some water. However, because of my webcam mic's lo-fidelity, it ended up sounding like a great menu accept sound for a game.

There is alot going on under the hood here, everything from an analog bass exciter, feeding into a audio rectifier, creating that unique bass tone. A highpass filter, feeding into a delay. And then a tape emulator, featuring frequency loss, tape degradation and wow'n'flutter. Other versions of this remix:. . Since my ears can't hear any frequencies above 14khz (please remember to wear ear defenders around loud machinery! thank you. <3), i can't hear tape hiss very clearly, and are afraid i might overdo the volume. This is a simple loop of me playing some nice triplet delay textures on guitar. This is a stereo file with 2 guitars panned on the right and left, playing the same pattern in different octaves, offering a nice atmosphere. This was recorded with a hagstrom f200p (awesome p90 style pickups) on a voxac15, using a boss dd7 for the delay and a beheringer reverb unit (yeah, i love the lo-fi sound of that cheap box!).

While outputting a file of sound effects, i ended up with a severely corrupted file. Playback results include incessant shrieking and slight pitch alterations. To create more variety, i used a lowpass filter and long reverb.
