While making an ambient track simulating a fortune teller's caravan, i designed 3 sounds in pro tools by layering and editing presets within ambience and soft pads. They add a bit of magical flare when the tarot card reader turns over a card. This sound can be used for any kind of transition, item acquisition, quest accomplished, or other quick sound effect which needs a light, magical quality. Wrote/recorded a free dance tune at 100bpm using ableton live 9. Basic 4 chord song structure (a, e, g, d). Synth and synth sounds are a combination of ableton stock plugins (bass groove, might as well synth brass, celestial pad) and free online synth vsts (dexed, synth1 vst). Some noise made to sound like the noise generators used in analog drum synthesizers for things like cymbals. Made with helm, 4 comb filters, and a high-pass filter. Helm to generate square wave dissonance, comb filters to add stereo and more "structured noise" quality, and high pass filter to hide the lower overtones.
