This was recorded a few feet away from an indoor fireplace. The recording was made with a tascam dr-05. Note: you may hear squeaking sounds or other artifacts in the compressed online preview. The file you download will not have these issues.

In this series of recordings i strike many cook's safety matches, in a small plaster-boarded room. These sounds were recorded with a match pair of rode m5 small diaphragm condenser microphones, into a zoom h4n. These are the raw sound recording with not noise reduction, eq, or compression. These sounds are 100% free for all uses.

Stove fire burners ignited one by one (having their drip bowls on). Recorded with a zoom h2 positioned in the middle of stove burners. It's a strange sound a candle was making while lit. I've pushed three burnt-off matches as a replacement for the wick, and they created such a shape of flame, that was "pumping" creating a strange buzzing sound. Recorded with a zoom h2.
