There was a foley (of the then cranky closet of mine i was fiddling with) lying around in my hard drive i recorded some time ago. I pitched it down several times, stacked up in multiple layers & went on to process the layers individually.

Recorded at an upstairs open window at 05:30 in april 2020 using a rode mic and a zoom h4n recorder. The usual birds are there plus the call of a pheasant, a resident of the field at the bottom of the garden. There's a low frequency ambient background. I think this was coming from a distant paper mill several miles away.

This was a recording i made on a zoom h2 of a cat's purr, ran thru several filters until i had what i wanted, a repeating, ordered, police like siren underwater. Recorded at the highest wav settings on my h2, so it should be decent enough. (chirping sound heard on freesound disappears on full downloaded version. ).

I´ve found a more than 2 meters high and wide bronze artwork hanging upright. It has several blocks on its surface, looking just like a upright hanging town. On 5 of the "houses" i played a rhythm, using rather hard drumsticks für kettledrums. Recorded with zoom h4n with 2 schoeps ccm4 mics.

Series of house door sounds starting with several knocks, followed by door opening and then shutting. Mono close-mic recording done with a stageworks ld1 @ 96k/32bit floating. This is a nylon coat with a wide-tooth zipper being zipped and unzipped at various speeds plus a couple of intermittent 'stuck zipper' sections. In several places i left the swishing sound of the nylon coat in to simulate the sound of a sleeping bag being zipped/unzipped. Recorded with stereo nt1a mics in a soundbooth. No effects.

Riding the m train in nyc from hewes st, getting off at myrtle-broadway. From there, the train was held by the dispatcher, and several other trains came and went on the opposite manhattan-bound platform.

One morning i was walking my dog it was very windy. I heard a tree that had fallen several years ago, make a squeeky sound towards another tree. I used the sound on old footage on a wooden-boat.

It was recorded from about three feet away near the left end of the dryers operating, near the front-loading doors of the dryers. Heavy, cyclic, mechanical rumbling sound. Sound of an emergency shut-down on a spaceship. A robotic voice is saying "enemy detected" attended by a brutal alarm sound. Maybe in a wide room or hall. I created this sound by using the fl studio speech synthesizer plus several effects. Maybe useful in a video game or a short animation movie ;-).

This was recorded at a wedding and celebration party afterward. Several hundred people talking in a very large room. It should be random enough to be used for most any situation where one needs ambient crowd noise. This was recorded directly from the on board mic of a full hd camera that uses acvhd. What you are listening to was rendered off at 48hz and 16 bits.

I recorded some sounds in my school with voices, then i added a percussion record and i made them repeat several times. This make a sound to show that one sound can be louder than an other and make this sound unique. When you talk to someone you heard all noises around you but you really listen to what he is telling you.

Several spitting noises recorded with the aim of getting a realistic sound and nothing besides spitting. I actually spit (not dry spitting) into a plastic bag. The impact on the plastic bag can be heard, but it isn't too bad. The first half is p-spitting and the second half is t-spitting (shape mouth is held in). A little bit of horking and squishing as well. Recorded with a shure sm58 in a treated room.

Several very satisfying pops of large plastic bubble packing. Not bubble wrap, these ones are much large, about 20x as big. They are more like small balloons. Some nice crackling plastic rustling sounds in there too, why not. The first one is a bit hot, but i turned down the mic for the other ones.

Added some delays, reverb, compression and eq as well as splitting several tracks and offsetting them to create a spacial soundscape.

Formatted for use in the make noise morphagene. This reel was used in the morphagene: plane of composition video. It consists of several splices of equal length to be traversed through linearly or nonlinearly. Audio is counting from 1 through 8 with various text-to-speech voices. The output has been edited so that the numbers appear at the same time in each splice for plane of composition traversal.

The loop was created with one of reaktor 5's instruments which was modified to create 4-second loops that sounds something like techno or general electronica. The drums are all created using a subtractive synthesizer, most of them sine waves and were modified several times.

A soft texture for synth pads in a3. Built by layering several sine-wave generators to create the note a and some of its overtones. It was then drowned in reverb. The sine-generators played just a short impulse, what you hear is the tail of the reverb, to give it more richness. Post-production: reverb.

I made changes in the impulse response of the fisher k-10, i used a demo of the fisher spacexpander on youtube that had a warmer sound, i did eq match using small sections of the video where the audio is dry or wet, i did this sin several times and the result was fantastically similar. My first payback to the freesound site!this is two oranges boiled whole for several hours and then mushed with a stick-blender in a medium-sized metal pan. Recorded using audio-technica at897 directly into zoom h4. Slight noise reduction using rx3 denoiser.

You could hear this rhythm in a place with several clocks; actually i got this 'clock rhythm' idea after hearing a cool beat made by three clocks. Sounds used found in the "clock tick rhythms pack.

To me the final effect sounded like a haunted space ship. I began with a 10 second sample of ordinary speech then lowered the pitch, stretched the wave pattern, added echo and reverb. Then i copied portions of the wave pattern to a new track and mixed the two into a mono track. Did this several times while also using noise reduction and normalization.

This is a compilation of spaceship cockpit noises i created for a sci-fi themed game project. Since some of the sounds weren't used in the game, i've uploaded these for everyone to use for free. All the sounds were created with native instruments' massive synthesizer and several field recordings. You can find and download other sounds from the project in the pack.

This was recorded in a university building in melbourne in 2018. It was after hours, in the evening, so the building was mostly empty. I was in a hallway that had lots of hard surfaces including linoleum floors. I could hear a baby crying in a room that was several metres away. This recording is mostly reverb and its very atmospheric. I just recorded it with my smartphone, but it was such a great sound that i had to get it!.

Released in 1989, the ensoniq vfx synthesizer was ensoniq's early take on wavetables, called transwaves in ensoniqs' perlance. The machine was a digital six oscillator hybrid rompler and additive with several of the waveforms being wavetables. Modulation settings allowed you to scan thru the waveforms for evolving sounds such as this pad. The vfx-sd was much the same synthesizer, but added a sequencer.

Process: a while ago i worked on a game and recorded several sound effects, one track after another. With the session set up the way it was, i opened all the channels and selected a section and exported it. After exporting, i threw it into paulstretch, and rendered that at the default settings. This was a pretty hard work. I only use a triple osc and i took an advantage of the several asio bugs of my soundcard. I don't mix the sound. I've re-recorded that shape 15 times, after that, i applied massive echo and reverb filters. 3 osc, echo, reverb, compressor.

I drew this thx deep note imitation in photosounder by drawing several lines with the white spray with the harmonics modifier. I first had a look at the original thx sound and tried to reproduce what i saw. The final chorus sounds bad because it's hand-drawn, so the right notes aren't hit plus the lines aren't straight so the pitches keep moving around a bit.

This one is an attempt to replicate the ww2 enfield bolt action rifle the british used through world war 1 all the way to world war two and is even still used in some paramilitaries today. I used mostly recordings of the actual enfield rifle and just stacked them together, processed them with eq and multiband compression and several transient designers to bring out the snap and attached a reverb tail to it. Made this in ableton live.

I made this sound on beepbox. Co right after i rode a mississauga transit (miway) nova bus lfs serving route 48 north. The nova bus lfs is a 40-foot transit bus made by nova bus manufacturer. Miway ordered several of these buses to replace the new flyer d60lfr and el dorado ez-rider buses.

While outputting a file of sound effects, i ended up with a severely corrupted file. Playback results include incessant shrieking and slight pitch alterations. To create more variety, i used a lowpass filter and long reverb.
