By chance i noticed that my guitar neck was cracking, in a very nice way. I used it, ever since i noticed this, for several sound design gigs. I hope you can use it too. (recorded with two neumann km184 mics and a ssl xlogic pre-amp. ).

Drawing curtains: in the sound you hear curtains being drawn from one side to the other giving a harsh "shhhhhh" sound. There are different variations in the speed in which the curtains are drawn as well. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. A low shelf was added to this sound to cancel some handling issues.

Set computer volume level at normal. Using headphones or your speakers, play each tone, gradually decreasing the volume until you cannot detect it. Note the volume setting (i know, this isn't easy if you don't have a graduated control, but you can make some arbitrary levels using whatever indicator you have on your os). Repeat with next tone. Try the test with headphones if you were using your speakers, or vice versa. Fyi: http://en. Wikipedia. Org/wiki/hearing_range.

A sound i made in audacity, basicly a chirp going down from about 500 hz to 20 hz (with a fade-out to limit subwoofer use)and added some ambience by using white noise rumble on the background, also added a slight wah-wah as you might notice. Feel free to use it in a project as long as you give 'olaf gillot' credit. And of course 'freesound. Org' for having such an awesome website, with free hosting stuff :d!.

It is a recording made with the following instrument´s: 1. Tuperware plastic and spoon; 2. A steren brand microphone, steren amateur model, was used; 3. The recording was done using the pure data adc code, and the necessary code to make a sampler with [tabwrite ~]; 4. Formatted for use in the make noise morphagene. Seven chords from my fender rhodes, each on its own splice, centered around a bb-minor root. The rhodes was running through an mxr zw-44 for mild overdrive, and the signal was boosted with a focusrite scarlett dynamic octopre. This reel was originally created for a guest post on the noise engineering blog: https://www. Noiseengineering. Us/blog/2017/9/18/modular-tips-and-tricks-guest-post-rheyne. Here's a video using this reel: https://youtu. Be/cyhpcbu71rc.

A jumpscare/screamer sound that can be used for a horror game. I yelled into the mic, i then edited it with a few effects, then i added one of the snare samples built into the daw, then i added a synth (fake synth built in to the daw) and then heavily distorted it with a few more effects. My yelling was recorded with my phone's built-in mic and the daw i used was fl studio mobile (used cloud storage to transfer to my computer). I made this for my five nights at freddy's fangame.

One of a series of heavily processed sounds i made using a small squeeze toy that just happens to be shaped like a cob of corn. I used s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, to combine these swishy sounds with various other metallic and synthetic sounds from my own library. The results are dynamic and surprising, and might be useful for certain kinds of unusual ui sound design.
