I recorded this in 2015 as background ambience for an audio drama. I was going into the woods at nighttime to have some insects singing for me.

Forest ambience with a strong wind blowing through the trees. Distant birds and creaking tree trunks make for a long, placid ambient listen. Recorded on zoom h1n, 24- bit, 48k but reduced to 16-bit, 48k and lossless flac compression for file size. Cleaned up a couple wind pops and filtered below 100 hz in izotope rx.

Birdsong of the chuck-will's-widow, a nocturnal bird that begins to sing at dusk. Recorded near chattanooga, tennessee in my back yard at edge of woods. It was captured on a zoom h1 handy recorder and edited with audacity.

A recording made on sunday september 27th, 2015 at 2:45pm in the forest on a cloudy slightly humid day in early fall. The temperature was about 70 and it was a fairly quiet woods. The squeaky sound that you hear off and on is a tree-frog. Made with marantz pmd661 and sennheiser me-66 microphones. Enjoy.
