Old yamaha drum kit recorded through a qfx shoebox taperecorder's built in mic. Then i played the tape and recorded a voicenote on a samsung galaxy note s1. I like the grain and texture so hopefuly helps for your lo-fi intended tracks.

Amateur guitar plucking of a tune of my own making, mainly on one string up and down the fret board. Recorded august or september 1984 when i was 15/16. Cassette is a basf cr2-90 (1 of 3). Recorded on my fidelity hi-fi tower, with microphones jacked in. The extra guitar strums near the end were actually unrelated, a technical glitch made an impression of the previous recording to bleed through. Audio has been uploaded using alesis usb tape deck link to audacity, no editing or noise removal was utilised.

Sample of a busker playing the accordion in a pamplona side-street in 1985. Recorded with a sony walkman using the in-built mics. Some background talking. Recorded onto tdk d90 cassette and stored since then in damp cellars, sheds, and long forgotten drawers. Just today transferred to digital using my fathers old decca legato tape player which we purchased in the early 70s to enable us to send messages to my uncle who had emigrated to australia. Dad says the player cost over £30 then which was more than a weeks wages at the time. I was inter-railing around europe at the time but the recording seems to stop in pamplona. Six weeks later all my money and passport was stolen while in crete and i made my way home via the british consulate in athens.

We wanted to add some tape delay to a piano track we were recording. This is an artifact that came from routing the third delay track back to the source track. Essentially, a quick two second feedback loop. Recorded with a peluso p12 and an akg 414.

This is a crusty old tape i found. Field recordings possibly made maybe in the 70's or 80's. The end of the tape is weird i think he recorded a dog panting or maybe its a cat purring but has slowed it down. It sounds cool and i always wanted to use it for something but never quite managed to make it fit.

Sound is a short clip from a microcassette field recording of my next-door neighbors talking outside. It has a seemingly young girl exclaiming "he looks like a damn prick!" and then some other things i don't remember or couldn't discern. I have no idea what they were talking about. . .

A looping lo-fi excerpt of felineterror's song 'r-s 5'. There is alot going on under the hood here, everything from an analog bass exciter, feeding into a audio rectifier, creating that unique bass tone. A highpass filter, feeding into a delay. And then a tape emulator, featuring frequency loss, tape degradation and wow'n'flutter. Other versions of this remix:. . Since my ears can't hear any frequencies above 14khz (please remember to wear ear defenders around loud machinery! thank you. <3), i can't hear tape hiss very clearly, and are afraid i might overdo the volume. Therefore i think its best to leave any tape hiss up to you, if you want any, there's plenty of recordings here on freesound, for example this one (cc-0). 120 bpm | original by felineterroruse this however you like!. Have fun, see you on the other side!.
