My daughter made an instrument some years ago. She took a small cardboard box and fixed some rubberbands with scotch on it, and this is how it sounded. She called it spelatronics. It no longer exists, unfortunately. But it can be remade.

This is a very interesting sound to make. Luckely i knew exactly how to make this sound. I used leather jacket. I twisted the jacket back and forth moving it in front of the mic. Now this sfx is my pride and joy. I acted quickly to get materials to work together to make this sound. I pulled a rope through the belt-eyes of some short pants, which would be the ropes releasing from the bag. Then i fluttered the pants to sound asif wind and the parachute material was colliding, making the sound so much more convincing.

This is the helvetia paddle steamer boat of cgn fleet. It was moored to be renovate and repaired. Little waves make the boat pitch and the big metal rope linking the boat to the quay is producing these nice metallic noises. 48khz schoeps.

Recorded in watchet harbour in somerset, uk, a few hours before a huge storm hit the little town. The wind is whistling through the rigging on the masts of the boats in the harbour, producing an eerie whine. Recorded with an sennheiser me-66. Mono.
