I recorded this on sept. 7th, 2013 in enumclaw, wa. We don't get many thunderstorms here and this one was a doozy. I used a yamaha pocketrak recorder and edited with sony sound forge. Please comment on what you will use it for. Thanks :o).
I set my mics up just in time to catch this loud thunder crash during a recording session. I aimed a stereo-matched pair of akg 451s out the window in an x-y configuration and ran them into a universal audio 2-610 preamp. There are no effects at all.
Thunder storm in london, it happened in the early hours so traffic noise is low. There's a little hiss from the recorder, some of it is rain though. I've uploaded the whole file, its pretty big, i can upload an mp3 if anyone needs it.
One minute of loopable audio, the sound of rain while standing under an umbrella. Slight traffic ambience. If you use this sound, please tag me in the comments and leave a link to your work! i'd love to hear how you used it!.
I recorded this with my yamaha pocketrak. I edited it in sony vegas and rendered to 3 tracks. A late summer rain storm with a bit of thunder towards the end of the recording. Please comment on what you will use it for. :^).
June thunder storm recorded from my back door, i used a beat up flip camera isolated the sound in movie maker and cleaned it up as best as i could in audacity.
Created for the play 'exit the king' (wilbury group, 2011). A expressionistic storm, with walls crumbling down in slow motion. I made this by tearing wood and plastic apart and slowing down the sounds and adding percussion. The rain i recorded out my window.
I created this using digital synthesizers. I lost the presets to this so i can't say exactly how it was created, but eventually i'll create a new version and describe the process. It's basically multiple layers of very grainy (like sparklers or vinyl) noise processed through filters modulated by some kind of noise.
No credit or attribution ever required. Truly free sounds with no strings of any type attached, are almost impossible to find. Use. . . Enjoy. . . !. Recorded during a summer rain storm out on my back patio.
Sound was created by lightly blowing into straw close to microphone with small and large exhales. A zoom h2n handy recorder was used to capture the sound and basic editing was completed in garageband. (christopher u. ).
Stereo recording of raindrops dripping off the roof and hitting the grass, with distant traffic. Recorded with a rode stereo videomic x into the sound devices mixpre-3.

A sharp boom of thunder from a storm over leicester. Recorded on a sony px470 dictaphone, using the noise cut-off filter, and lightly amplified with audacity.
Driving during a heavy powerful hail storm and using windshield to deflect the hails in order to see the road. 50% chances of surviving the hail storm.
