I needed a background sound for a play i was involved in to suggest a busy train station in the 1930's. There are various steam sounds, door clucks, whistles and a lot of reverberation sound effect applied.

Spoiler alert - from the description, you might be led to believe that this is the sound of an old steam engine slowly chugging its way past you, under a bridge or through an old station. In fact, it is actually the sound of me scrubbing a textured shower-room floor. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is a steam train at a station blowing off steam. The train then blows it's whistle and pulls out of the station. Old locomotive.

For a podcast project i needed some coffee related sounds so i recorded our techni-vorm moccamaster, filter coffee machine as it brewed a full pot. Our version has a metallic thermos jug rather than the standard glass jug. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. A extreme close up recording of a passenger train pass by. Stereo setup with not much processing done to the file just some slight eq and compression.

A mid-sized waterfall flowing into a gentle stream. This is near the road by the grand prismatic spring in yellowstone. The timbre of this smaller fall is higher than the roar of the large waterfall. And you can just make out the gurgling of the stream. But, in general, this kind of thing sounds a bit like static. Sorry it's so short, there was a lot of wind and people talking.
