Warning: careful when listening, it gets loud!. July 4th. Recorded in the midwest usa, where we adore our explosives. The omnis on my humble dr-05 did a pretty good job capturing the sheer depth of zillions of people blowing stuff up together :-). You’ll hear: people having a party in the distance, a bonfire crackling on the right, a distant train blowing its whistle, and of course a lot of explosions. A couple of the big bangs clipped, but unsurprisingly, it made no audible difference. I reduced to 48khz, 24 bit and normalized to -3. 0 db. It really wakes up when you apply some eq to your liking. But i left it as is for everybody.

Impulse response file for use in convolution reverbs. I recommend convology xt by impulse records, free and easy to use. Recorded in a glass box of a hotel shower. And we all know glassy resonant shower reverb is the best. Recorded with a sony d100. Self-reminder to bring more balloons next time.

Honestly, i just went "pkhoooooo" into my laptop mic, bass boosted it, slowed it down, pitched it down, and ran it through a low-pass filter in audacity. Around 15 minutes of a fireworks show i went to. You can hear many different types of fireworks go off, with crackling, explosions, bangs, booms, etc. In this. There are people and kids talking and laughing in the background throughout many parts due to this being a public event, which may be good or bad depending on what you would like to use this for. The fireworks were not very far away, which means that they do sound close. I even got covered in some ash during the experience. You do not need to credit me for this sound, use it how you like.
