This is a recording of a train going through two stations in a city (bristol)on the seven beach line. It is a diesel train. It is not a high speed train.

Recording of my own fireplace made with a tascam dr-40 (internal mics). I blasted up the lower freqs, kept the mid-range close to 0, then from 5-16 khz went back way up, slowly tapering down to below zero for the highest frequencies. All editing done in audacity, compressed using soundkonverter in linux. This is a good sound effect for either a bonfire or a house burning down, which is what i made it for.

Recorded on 21/02/2010 at approx. 4pm at zürich hauptbahnhof (main train station), switzerland. Can't remember which platform (possibly 12?). Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, no windshield. File has not been modified, only cut short from a longer recording.

Lighting a safety match. No other effect apart from using the zoom h6's xy mic at 90 degrees and a bit of trimming and the tinest amount of volume automation to rise the end part to an audible gain. Possible applications could be used for a character who smokes cigarettes, foley for a ignition sound effect or literally lighting a safety match.

A bell announces a train is coming, quickly followed by the roar of an approaching engine. Many train cars pass in a cacophony of steel wheels and roaring mass, followed by a fade-out.
