A little bird started singing on a fence next to my window and i started imitating him with my stones of skiddaw midi player, added in an accompaniment. This is a stereo recording of an exterior glass and metal door on a university campus in new jersey, usa. There are several articulations of the door here that lend themselves to creature and robot noises. There is a whimper and a sigh and a screech as well as some ticking and clicking. This reminded me very much of baby godzilla type noises. I've put these into iris 2 and had a good time making synth patches with them. Stereo recording at 48khz 24bit on a tascam d-40x using the internal microphones.

This is a noise i made myself with my mouth and an h4n and slowing it down to 80%. I was looking for the sound of a sheep eating, and believe it or not, i did manage to find one here. Damn, i love this place--you guys are the best!! still, it wasn't quite as graphic (or over the top) as i needed so i made this one. Enjoy.

Listening to nightingales & other sleepy birds in the evening. . . You can hear my baby rook taki squak at the very end, cause he was getting restless & wanted to go home to sleep for the night. You can hear nightingales, warblers and thrushes all around. This was recorded using my crappy, old mp3 player in the countryside of henfield, near brighton, england, on the 31st of may 2010. I often play it & other recordings i made around there for my birds in the evening, as a kind of nature lullaby. ^-^.

I have been hearing an animal or two beneath my bathtub for some time now. Today i discovered who it was. Leaving my apartment building this afternoon, i saw a cat sized racoon carrying her baby under the walkway. I went back inside and set up a microphone aimed at the floor by my bathtub. Methodology: shure sm58 into focusrite and recorded via ableton. Noise removed in audacity. I have a horrendous ground loop situation. In the future i may try to mic from below the apartment so that it isn't so muffled by the floor. Some noise comes from how much i had to amplify the signal to make it heard.
