A butane lighter being flipped close, making a sharp "ching" sound with a high pitched metallic tone as it reverberates. Works well for closing a zippo also.

Mind the loudness and piercing frequencies. Feedback made using only a self-patched random*source serge triple+ waveshaper, or tws+. Recorded with and formatted with splices for use with the make noise morphagene, but can use for and with whatever of course. Warning that it's it's quite high pitched so you may need to pitch it down with the morphagene's pitch knob a good bit if you want it less harsh. I think i acidentally hit splice instead of record one time so there might be a random short splice somewhere, but maybe it adds some splice length dynamics. . .

Made sometime during 2017. Excerpts from my experiments with sinusoidal waves, homemade distortion effects, digital reverb, room reverb, and speaker->mic->pc feedback. Several effect parameters are controlled via an ekg setup called the "infernal gadget" which i constructed between 2010-2011 and used for several improvised music sessions.

This can be a good sound to use as an intro to something dark. There is a lot of distortion, feedback, noise and instruments such as drum and piano.

Sound exercise where we had to choose a location & an object in that specific location. I chose for the sculpture atelier in the academy of bellas artes. Sound source : a non-standard tuned höfner guitar & a lithium-ion battery powered 6 watt speakerwith a cute little aaa battery powered vox pre-amp. Put on a copper plate, live manipulated & processed / bent / tapped on / glided withwhat not /. . . A long metal tube. Natural feedback has been 1 of my favorite modi operandiinfluenced by entre autres my bloody valentine, sonic youthglenn branca & a lot of noise artists. . . Recording source : a f*+#!ng apple iphone ( for which itlasted 30 minutes to put it on an apple imac ?!!?? )i take a shot @ apple for a reason , my mbp during coronahas been seen imploding ! ( dikke poef !!! ) june 2020don’t buy apple, ask louis rossmann ( youtube ). This piece has been recorded in one big long take;until now whatsoever no edits have been madelet’s see if i can make this post-production wisemore ear-candy wise even better. . . The artist known as -̶j̶o̶z̶e̶f̶a̶l̶e̶k̶s̶a̶n̶d̶e̶r̶p̶e̶dr̶o̶-has been seen predicting on his bandcamphe “ll be integrating somehow thisfree improvisational piece into his avant-latest new track called‘ mars in-3 “. . . 5 min recording. Question. Do you hear any form of repetitiv pattern?the "engine" for this. . . Is a feedback patch. Chaotic? maybe. The colors the soundfile get here on freesound reveals patterns. I use this feedback patch to derive timing and pitch. I restrain the pitch. It's bad enough as it is. The feedback patch is made with 2 lfos, 1 vclfo and a vcad.

Start with chaos. In this sound/patch you have the possibility to enjoy chaos and feedbacki use my sloth lfos and jerkoff - another chaos moduleim possible sick i like this - thou its simple. Sloth modulate vco and filter cut of frequencyfeedback from vco to the filter via a vca controlled by a looping envpan fx also controlled by sloth - same env that controls the frequency. The "prassel" rustle sound is great in my earsjerkoff, exp vca, function and another sloth. Evaluation of patch/soundone cycle is - there are many cycles to consideronly short sounds - no, goodamplitude variation - yep goodpitch variation - mediumtimbre variation - some, via filter/two soundsmusical value - i think so!entertaining - yes?!.

This sound was from a live video feed on a social media broadcast. At some point the audio just got caught into a feedback loop that lasted for a bit. I thought it sounded interesting and saved it. Has kind of a laser or phaser cannon kind of thing going on. Perhaps an alert sound of some sort. Probably many possibilities for usage.

Boring sound. . . Neuron patch (?). . . Inspired by nlc squid axon (i have saved some hp for that one!) i have patched up a simple 2 stage asr with 2 s/h. Most of the time it plays its atonal melody, but when the patch is stimulated (by a sloth lfo) feedback opens up. I can adjust the sensitivity in different ways (so i can simulate the intake of drugs. . . ). The sound from the oscs goes though vcfs with some resonance. The vcfs are controlled by the same sloth lfo. My neuron patch. . . No hands during recording. My favourite part is when nothing happens - for almost 1 min?! but you can hear the filter working via the vcfs. The cv must be in some strange area.

Sloth (lfo) to vclfo is the "engine". Triggers chain reacting function generators"boom/booiing" trigered "by" logic - nor i thinkjupiter storm is one voicejupiter storm also modulates the other voice that goes through wave rectifyingjerkoff modulates jupiter storm, a trigger goes back to jerkoff and jupiter is modulating it self. . . The clip was created using a synsonics "terminator" guitar with a built-in amp by running the output to my sound card and sound card's output going into to a secondary jack intended for headphones on the guitar. It created an interesting metallic noise, almost like a ring mod. . . There is a segment where i was poking the guitar's amp circuit board with my fingers which creates lots of grumbling/squelchy noises. . . The guitar is kind of crappy, but it makes a pretty neat noise synth! :b.
