Rain in brittany on a windy winter day. I built this sound by mixing several field recordings made on the same spot: a small wood in the south of the region. These recordings had different focuses: some were more wind-oriented, others had more rain. . . Instead of publishing these individual takes, i chose to mix them in order to create a soundscape that would vary in density, depth and spacing. Recorded with a zoom h2n in x/y stereo mode. Mixed in nuendo 2. Mastered in sound forge 8.

Walking through crunchy ice covered snow on a very cold day. I pant in the cold. The snow is not too thick, just a couple inches but it crunches like gravel. It was really cold.

A huge ice storm moves in to the back woods of north carolina on 01/30/2014. First it snowed. . . And then it sleeted. When all that sleet froze on the surface of the snow, walking in this winter-wonderland produced an amazing sound. So, i put on my boots, grabbed my zoomh4n and set out to record the magic!. This would be very useful as foley fx for walking in any frozen environment. I walked on various surfaces and depths of ice and snow throughout. Engorged by seasonal precipitation this large heritage river churns into a narrow bedrock canyon, turns, and comes out of the turn charging. This is where the recording was made, at river level.
