A recording of me digging a grave for a film i was making. By this point i was very tired in the sun, so expect heavy breathing, sniffling and tiresome digging.

Field recording made while walking around boston's financial district, summer 2005. Sounds include typical city noises: traffic, some construction sounds, people walking past. Some wind noise, though limited to bursts here and there.

A bird twitters, with assorted more distant birds in the background. Recording is interrupted (and terminated) by the engine of a passing car.

Evening crickets chirping. Relatively thin, early evening ambience. Repeated trill of one particular cricket dominates. Some wind noise.

One of a series of sounds i made using a small squeeze toy that just happens to be shaped like a cob of corn. I felt like the expulsion of air made a nice swishy ui sound. Recorded with a rode nt1 into a universal audio arrow.

The old, ragged ventilation-unit of a beach house on bimini island. Recorded with a sony pcm-m10.

This is the zooming sound of a space ship accelerating. This was sampled from a mix of electric vehicle sounds and car noises and synthesized in audacity. If you use this, tell me what project you're working on in the comments :).

A bit of outdoor sound that is almost nothing, yet provides a sense of realism to conversation or other sounds. A minute and seventeen seconds of loop-able background recorded before seven am.

Now this sfx is my pride and joy. I acted quickly to get materials to work together to make this sound. I pulled a rope through the belt-eyes of some short pants, which would be the ropes releasing from the bag. Then i fluttered the pants to sound asif wind and the parachute material was colliding, making the sound so much more convincing.

Rhythmic noise from some kind of loud machine, recorded outdoors, as evidenced by birdsong in the background. I honestly have no idea what was making the noise, though, and my notes are missing. Mysterious!.

Flyby of a mavic 2 pro with standard props, recorded outdoor. Different types: drone ascending, descending, flyby forward and backward. Sounds like: starship flying by, drive-by. Recorded with sounddevices mixpre-3, sennheiser mke 600, unprocessed.

Tornado siren in streamwood, il recorded during the monthly test. This version is heavily edited, with some filtering and compression applied, as most of the recording was distorted (i was too close to the siren!), although it should be useable with appropriate filtering to suit your purpose. The actual siren is located a short way north west of the geotag (it should be visible using google's satellite view). Recorded using a rode ntg2 into a zoom h4.

Pulling apart and throwing / dropping / breaking / smashing chunks of ice from the frozen water pooled up over the cover of my swimming pool. The breaking ice sometimes sounds a bit like shattering glass; at other times the sound is more crunchy and wet.
