I recorded these birds singing in a forest near sablonceaux in france. I used a zoom h1 recorder. I have no idea wich birds are in the recording, but as soon as i find out, i will update the description.

Pine cones dropping and landing on a bed of pine needles. This recording was made on a windy day, so there is some background "whooshing" wind; all in all, i think these pine cones softly landing on the needles can be put to good use. Recording made with my zoom h4n recorder, with a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone. For this recording i literally wanted to get as close as i could, so i placed the shotgun microphone on the ground and carefully let the pine cones fall as close to the microphone as possible, but without hitting it. *not easy to do. I did edit out some of the direct hits!. Enjoy, and if you ever get the chance to spend a warm afternoon in the peace of a thick stand of pines, you should. Kvgarlic.

As the earth continues to slowly tilt the northern hemisphere away from the warmth of the sun's rays, the pace of life in midwestern fields slows down. This recording was made at 3pm on wednesday october 5 2022 in a huge, 70-plus acre, abandoned farm field. A field bordered thousands of acres of state-owned forest. The soft peeps of the few remining birds, grubbing around for protein-packed insects is the soundtrack. At 5 minutes into this recording a delightful, friendly exchange between two birds as if they are saying "hey, let's help each other find food before this field is blanketed with snow at cold. ". At 7:05 in this recording a truck slowly drives by, softly crunching gravel and the driver slows down to witness this annual, melancholy autumnal change. Here's a recording of a small campfire in the forest at night made in saint-urbain (charlevoix) pq, canada in a night of august 2014. You can hear wind in the leaves and crickets in the background. It was made with a sound devices usbpre2 into a tascam dr-680 (spdif) and 2 microphones studio project c1 in ortf stereo pattern. A little correction was made in equalization of the sample and the volume was augmented w limiter. It's in 24 bits 96khz , 40hz low cut.
