A horse harnessed with metalic chains is walking in a silent forest. The rattling of chains is getting closer, then we follow the horse and we can ear the lood steps on the forest soil of fallen leaves. Then the horse is going away and the rattling of chains desappears slowly in a silent forest of windy pines. France, january 2023. My house is next to a nature preserve but there is also a road where cars drive by every so often so there are parts of this recording with car sounds and parts with just the birds chirping.

A recording of strong spring wind gusts through a stand of mature, tall white pines in a midwest forest. I used my handy zoom h4n recorder, and i used my rode nt2 shotgun microphone, cable-tied to a sapling. No kidding, i forgot my sturdy tripod, so i improvised using some bungee cords that i carry with me, tied the shotgun to a sapling and this is what i recorded.

Recorded using an iphone 3g voice recorder sitting in the center of the plaza at la cruz de huanacaxtle in nayarit mexico. Tropical birds in a tree to the left, a person to the right fiddles with their bag, then near the end a single small car drives around the block. About 1 minute in duration.

A field-recording taken at a local animal park (germany). It was an early morning in spring and there were hardly any people there yet. The area, where we sat down, was surrounded by trees. Numerous birds were chirping and crows were cawing. A few farm animals like sheep can be heard in the recording at times as well as a one of the caretakers starting a vehicle in the distance.
