It is a partly cloudy, windy day and a fair amount of people are at the beach, few are bathing. Some boats and ships pass by in the mid distance. It's a recording of a man operating a chainsaw in a forest near an underground repair station. I've been biking through the forest whe i heard the chainsaw, so i stopped and recorded 7 minutes of him cutting off branches, tembers and walking around a bit. You can heat the chainsaw, natural forest reverb, sometimes a plane flying by or an undergroud train. The recording was made from around 20~30 meters from the sound source. Recorded with a zoom h2 (rear mics, hi gain, 96/24). Originally a 96khz / 24-bit wav file. Converted to flac using audacity.

Swiss forest, sunny winter morning, on a small mountain. The cracks and other falls are due to the snow that melt in the sun and fell from the top of the trees. It was beautiful. Recorded in stereo with h5n, and processed a little bit to reduce the wind.

Most of this recording is of insects in a special field of native wildflowers at a dog-park on south mountain reservation in new jersey. Near the beginning of the recording, you can hear, in the distance, a dog at the dog park yelping in pain very loudly, perhaps after receiving a bite from another dog.
