I was surprised this still worked. This is an old ibm selectric ii typewriter, with correcting tape, the “quieter” selectric at the time. It’s about 80 pounds, a real back-breaker. The carriage return bell is broken, unfortunately, so the best you might hear it is rattling due to the belt vibration. Recorded with a tascam dr-05, without the low-cut since i wanted a beefy sound. Placed direcly above the roller, about 12 inches away. I swapped the channels in audacity to match perception & sampled down to 48khz. Description: i roll in some paper, type a few paragraphs from some copy, and roll it out when i’m done. Man, can you type fast on these machines!.

An automatic coffee machine. Recorded in an empty university common room. The first minute or so is us putting money in, but with some editing you get a great sample for an exterior coffee vendor. Recorded using an edirol r4 and shotgun mic.

Train-crossing bells with traffic background, fairly loud. Train bell itself mixes in as train approaches (0:20->0:32), followed by train noise: wheels, brake squeals and compressor hiss.

Zip twisting mechanism sound, then a drop glug sound. Also sound like a bottle glug. Use examples: you can use this in a number of ways if you edit it. 1. Parking meter. 2. Edit/cut the sound so that it sounds like you are using a drink vending machine. 3. Use the end glug sound as bottle being put down. Or copy and past the glug multiple times in a row to simulate someone heavily drinking from a bottle. 4. Glug sound can be used as something dropping in water. -[ recording info ]-. I created this accidentally while making bead strand zip sounds and hitting the microphone. Studio mic: at4033recorded in: adobe audition 3mastered: using eq, compressed, noise gated, and normalized to -. 1. *no credit is ever needed to use my samples!*read my profile for further info.

I generated a square tone with audacity and applied a few effects to it, mostly wahwah i think, and faded in and out. It's the same as "machine. Wav" that i've uploaded, but louder. If you repeat it, it makes a very believable sound for an old video game machine.

This is a sound recorded with a handcrafted electromagnetic microphone. The machine recorded is used for computation tasks at cbc (upf) for their experiments on brain cognition. As researchers of the center for brain and cognition, we work to advance our understanding of how experience influences the emergence of structure and function through computational and experimental investigation. We are also interested in understanding how mechanisms regulating brain development interact with the effects of experience to produce the structural and functional characteristics of the brain. These lines of research clarify how specific biological mechanisms routinely support the emergence of cognitive functions, leading to insights into why experience is so important for normal brain development.
