This is a field recording from inside the "experience gallery" of the musical instrument museum (phoenix, arizona). The experience gallery is full of gongs, bells, drums, gamelan instruments, stringed instruments, marimbas, xylophones, and even a theremin. A schoolgroup of children were let loose at the time of this recording. Recorded in stereo with a sony pcm-d50 (onboard mics, wide pattern) while in motion.

I needed the sound of a busy pub that was noisy enough that people were shouting to each other. This was recorded in a busy cambridge pub, uk, on a cold saturday night in january.

A baler machine being used at a recycling centre. The baler goes through a full cycle from start to finish and is generally used to compress cardboard into small cubes which can then be recycled. A high-quality recording of a quiet day on the steps in front of the st. Ursen cathedral in solothurn, switzerland. You can hear the two fountains which build the background sound. Also, there are tourists and swiss people walking nearby and talking. The sound was recorded in 24bit on a professional zoom recorder with the xyh-5 stereo microphone. For postprocessing, only unwanted noises were cut from the recording and the overall sound level was raised.
