This is an alternate recording i took on 04/26/2014, on microcassette, of an art installation in madison, wi titled "asylum," created by marina kelly and megan katz. This was taken at the same time as the cassette recording i uploaded previously; if asked by kelly or katz i will respectfully take both down. "asylum" was a temporary art installation located in the tenney park passageway under east johnson street. From what i saw when i was there, it was just a speaker or two playing some ambient sounds. These sounds could have been generated based on environmental input, but due to lack of evidence i can't conclusively say that was indeed the case. I was in a bad mood on this recording so apologies for the negativity/language.

A recording i took on 04/26/2014, presumably on cassette tape, of an art installation in madison, wi titled "asylum," created by marina kelly and megan katz. To my knowledge, this is the only audio recording that exists of the soundscape, though if asked by kelly or katz i will respectfully take it down. The old flour mill at woodbridge in suffolk, england is powered by water from a tidal pond, which refills at every high tide. It is one of only two in the country. The sound is of the vertical wooden main drive shaft creaking in its bearings, with the mill-wheel rumbling in the background. Recorded with my sony pcm-m10.

Short quick classical instrumental with lutes and flutes. 1600s-sounding but can be 1700s, 1500s, etc. Hope you like it, enjoy!.

Took a ride on a historic steam engine in the lake district (england). This was recorded from outside as the train pulled into the station (i think!).

Took a ride on a historic steam engine in the lake district (england). This was recorded from inside the carriage while in transit. Some background talking but a lot of good mechanical clunking type sounds. This one was recorded pointing the mic at a rattly window.

Nostalgic piece where a choir sings on a station platform whilst a steam train is waiting to move off. The choir is singing in kings college cambridge style in the key of c - actually rené sequencing mimeophone karplus-strong over 2 octaves :).
