I stood on the platform at the montrose l station with a sony minidisc and recorded the entire process of a nyc subway train coming and going. Low noise, though you may wish to use a high-pass filter as there is so much bass in the material.

The recorder is located directly beneath an expansion joint on the edge of the underpass, the clonks and clanks of cars and trucks driving over the joint can clearly be heard, with the motorway noise reverberating in the underpass in the background. Recorded with a zoom h2 with a rycote windscreen, mounted on a boom pole. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

I was walking along a busy street in a city, cars and trams passing by, then i entered a tram, rode one stop and exited the tram again. Zoom h1, 48/16.

I strapped an h6 to the frame of a rickety fixed-gear bicycle with no shock absorbers on either wheel. I rode this around a shipping container yard near ahmedabad, on a gritty surface made up of interlocking concrete tiles. Close mic-ed.

This is the soundscape i've recorded in my neighboorhood of cidade tiradentes, a district from são paulo, brazil. We name these events as pancadão (big punch) or fluxo (flow). When a flow occurs, you know that the sound is very high and it invades all surroundings. It happened in april 4, 2021, during our worst period in the the global covid-19 pandemic. Plent of people, vehicles, multiple speakers and so on in a street. I'm writing in the exact moment police came to repress, but in my conclusion only education can solve city problems, not repression, not paliative atitudes. I think this is interesting to share it here, as a cultural manifestation, showing that when the state fails, everyone fails. This is disrespectful at all, but i try to look it as a construction of city. In a country where its president goes for a for a swim at a crowded beach amid 200 thousand pandemic deaths, how can i criticize suburban people?. I'm not conservative, i like the kind of music playing known as"brazilian funk" or "funk carioca", this is our culture, even if i do not participate actively. Here we hear a german public bus approaching a snow-covered stop from the right, stop, and continue shortly thereafter. The engine is a prominent part of the recording. Towards the end, a second public bus passes in front of the mic in the opposite direction before the first one continues to the left towards the next stop.
