The soundscape of a thunderstorm that passed over berlin in 2012, recorded from my backyard window with a little earplug stereo mic that a friend once made for me - a dummy head. The heavy rain was followed by thunder, then transforms into softer rain that lets you hear faint city sounds like cars, doors closing, someone using a screwdriver, voices, the bells of a nearby church, airplanes and birds. There's so much to hear, i couldn't stop recording. I only took out some little peaks caused by the movement of my ear.

A weak thunderstorm came to pécel in the afternoon on 1st of may 2014. Some thunder, wind and very small amount of rain. Recorded by sony stereo dictaphone.

Thunderstorm recorded in appalachian ohio. Twenty minutes in, the rain becomes heavier and the water overflows the gutter, hitting a metal air conditioner.

Thunderstorm came nearby to the north part of pécel, hungary on 5th of sept 2012. It didn't produce rain onyl thunder. You can hear the loudest thunder - with the guinea-fowls from the neighbour. . .

Wind noise, made from several segments of white noise with different eq and flange settings, cross-faded to form one long loop. Regular and continuous rumbling thunder. I stood at my back door and recorded the storm as it rolled by. This is a recording i made during a lull in a storm, i recorded in ortf configuration with a pair of akg c1000's through a mixpre-6. I pointed the mics at my neighbour's house which had an overflowing gutter/drainpipe making the water slap on to the concrete. Recorded 2017 in melbourne australia.

Recorded with a zoom h1 n. This is similar to rain-on-veranda-roof-and-window-glass. Wav except instead of recording on the window sill, the device is hand-held aloft in the middle of the veranda and closer to the ceiling. The rain on roof sound is louder and less rain can be heard striking the glass windows. It's a typical intense winter rain storm with wind gusts and driving rain in the month of january on vancouver island.
