Creepy sirens all at slightly different frequencies. I recorded it with an iphone xr during some adverse weather with a tornado warning/watch.

Five minutes of rain, artificially created. Same mix as my other "five minutes of rain" upload, but without the reverb in case you want to add your own. Process:. Using a blue yeti usb condenser mic on the cardioid pattern, i made a 30-minute recording of sounds from my sink (drips, splashes, different faucet pressures) and cut them up into 60 files, later edited down to 20. These were layered together and mixed with white, pink, and brownian noise. Slight noise removal applied. Recorded basic mic noise, and used a subtractive processor (reafir in reaper) to remove that sound from the final mix. .

Checked-in to a hotel in raleigh, north carolina with my wife to catch a flight early the next morning out of rdu. Suddenly, a storm rolled in to the area and, since we were going to bed anyway, i placed my zoomh4npro (120 degree setting) on the air conditioning unit below the window. I made this binaural recording while standing on a suburban street in the middle of a thunderstorm (in my socks) carrying an umbrella. There are some nice lightning strikes, and birds can be heard in the background. ----recorded with two sony lavalieres -> a zoom h1 (with home-made felt windscreens).

The sound of birds and distant thunder awoke me from a long nap, and so i sprung off the couch and grabbed my recording equipment, dashing outside just in time to record the arrival of a thunderstorm. Over the course of this clip, the storm gets closer and closer, until it starts to rain with increasing intensity. The clip is nicely unmolested by wind, and contains a nice background of birds. A tremendous thunderclap is featured in the middle, three minutes in.

I set up my recorder outside on christmas eve in 2016 and unwittingly captured the sound of this anonymous and apparently oblivious neighbor walking his dog and singing "it's the most wonderful time of the year" down my street. Pretty charming!. I've noticed recently how my zoom h4 has this nasty looping hum buried beneath the already disappointingly stubborn background noise whenever i do field recordings. Can somebody point me to a solution?.
