I thought it'd be a cool memory so i took out my zoom h2n and made this recording. Not the most pleasant thing to experience but pretty unforgettable anyway. Mode used: 2 ch (+2) | gain: 10.

A recording of a series of northwest wind gusts blowing through the bare december branches. A wind-chime adds some color, as well as a far-off train towards the end of the recording. Recording made on december 17th, 2014 with the zoom h4n recorder and using its internal, built-in stereo microphones with the record volume set on 82.

I sampled the bell tree at our church. After seeing how much the instrument costs at the music store, i opted to not buy one. The long version of this moves from left to right, and has the single sample repeat twice. So it begins on the left, has a delayed start in the center, then finally a third repeat starts on the right. Add liberal amounts of reverb, to taste. We were staying at an eco hostel outside of foz do iguaçu in southern brazil, and i had a moment to go over to the edge of the forest and record the sounds of the animals on my phone. You can hear a faint wind overhead. It was a peaceful afternoon.

I got hit by a spinning firecracker that decided to run into me while recording my other firecracker sounds. In the middle of the clip it sounds like someone stepping on old wood planks. Maybe someone will have some use for this sound.
