Imagine a warm, damp-humid august evening in the midwest. It's about 8pm and you're in a mowed path which is 10 feet wide. On either side of you, are two fields of tall -- 9 feet --- corn standing like green, thick grassy sentinels. This is where i was when i recorded this hypnotic sound-scape on saturday night august 9th 2014. I made this recording with my marantz pmd661 (modified by oade brothers electronics)in stereo using twin, matched samson co2 microphones mounted on my tripod about 5 feet above the ground. My record volume was 6 1/2.

Org/people/milton. /sounds/244429/i have edited a four bars loop in audacity to change the format to wav and mono sound with a depth of16 bits. Also i have applied a soft fade in and fade out in order to avoid artefacts.

Baby noises at just under 6 months. Sing song noises with no discernable words. Baby started making these noises yesterday.

A midday recording of my homestreet on a calm winter-day, recorded on zoom h4n internal microphones.

Just something i put together for fun with my new addictive drums-2 program. I used audacity to drag and drop and then sent it to my sony editing. I duplicated the tracks for a total of three. I like how it sounds and hope you do too. Please comment on what you may use it for. Thanks. :-).

Marching bands loop from cylinder (very old).

One of autumn's most signature sounds is that of dry leaves skittering and tumbling as they ride along on a hard surface. In this case, the hard surface is asphalt. Hardly any other sound, just the strong autumn wind, and bunches of dried out sweet gum, maple and oak leaves racing across an asphalt parking lot. Think of it, also, as the sound from our youth, our careful youth when everything was achievable. At least for me, this brings me back to my happy place. Recorded on saturday october 17 2020 in an asphalt parking lot buffeted by gusts between 20 and 30 mph. Sound devices 702. Sennheiser mkh416 left channel, beyerdynamic m58 right channel.

Military-style drum music for a comedy marching routine. Played by me on a yamaha motif 7 music workstation.

Recorded on mid-summer (that looked like mid-autumn) day 2010 in vilnius with a simple olympus voice recorder. I placed an old piece of metal sheet on a broken glass fish tank near a garage wall to catch the drops, recorder was placed in the middle of the sheet. The rain was very light and fine, later it intensified and became lighter again - all this is heard in the recording. Unfortunately three recorder beeps are heard at the end signaling that it was running out of memory. I later decided to leave them in as it quite unexpectedly added some drama to the whole record. . .

Crowd at a college graduation, you can hear the graduation march being played in the distance and the crowd chatting around you. Recorded on my tascam dr-40.
