Two small blades sliding over each other. The sound is made by using two small kitchen knifes however, try pitching it down to -12 semitones and further for a sword-like sound. The noise of the recording is gated so it still comes through a little on the decay.
A drum loop i created for a reactable concert in brussels using kitchen sounds. Recorded with a cheap microphone. They are dry and unprocessed, to make them sound good youneed a reactable :), or some additional processing.
A handful of spaghetti cracked into half. I don't know how to use this but often an injury in film foley is just breaking a celery or something else. Recorded with a tascam dr-40. Note: feel free to use this sound in one of your own projects. If you want to, you also can send me a link. I would love to hear some of my field recording into someone’s work.
Braun model 3105 coffee maker. Multiple takes of picking up and replacing the glass carafe on the hotplate. The left channel is a sennheiser mkh-416 and the right channel is an akg c414 b-uls, both into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools. Each mic has a slightly different recording position. The akg has more of a "room" perspective whereas the sennheiser gives a close up, detailed perspective.
Restaurant with no customers during preparation time. Continuous background hum of compressor and other kitchen equipment, banging of pots, the sizzle of food on a griddle or grill and, towards the beginning, the roar of a truck accelerating outside.
Raw audio of a small pot full of rice cooking on an electric cooker with no lid on. I think this can actually loop though that wasn't intentional. Recorded with a zoom h1n. Feel free to use this in your cooking game, laboratory soundscape or in whatever other way you can.
