This is the sound from my bunk sailing across the atlantic on a sailing ship.

Recorded in january 2011 waiting for the shinkansen (bullet train) to tokyo at koriyama station in fukushima, japan. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, with a windshield. File has not been modified, just cut short from a longer recording. There are two shinkansen in the recording: one arrives and leaves at the adjacent platform, and one arrives on the immediate platform.

A little thing i came up with while doing some research on how j macis writes music. Found out he puts a capo on the second fret and by doing that this japanese pop chord progression i learned by watching a video marty friedman did on japanese style guitar improv was sounding a lot better than without one. A field recording of the japanese landscape, recorded at sakaori, yamanashi at around 6am in march. General ambience and birdsong. From around 1:30 you can hear the bells of zenkoji temple in the distance. Recorded with a zoom h4n and normalised.

These animal sounds were recorded inside a stone circle at the back of my property just as dawn broke. Most sounds are farm animals and birds and some unknown.

The sunrise recorded one kilometer away form a remote highway, near a forest. Used zoom h4n's internal mics.

This was recorded inside the blue mosque in istanbul during friday prayer in may 2005. To get in to the blue mosque with recording equipment we had to get a permission from the religious authorities. We also needed a muslim to operate the equipment since the friday prayers were forbidden for non-muslims. We set up the recording equipment and let our turkish guide hit the record button once the prayer started. The sound is recorded using an m/s rig straight to dat and processed afterwards with a hp filter in protools to remove microphone rumble. Recorded by asbjørn blokkum flø, kjetil bjørgan and the anonymous guide.
