When i came to the strange decision to try recording my poems as songs i looked for ambience around the house. Silver tube inset in wood with mallet to create different singing bowl like effect.

A hit on a bass drum with reverb.

70's era korg univox sr-120 drum machine driven through gap-pre73 preamp sent through joe meek c2 optical compressor sent through aphex compellor compressor, limiter and aural exiter, recorded via sony pcm-d50. I think the univox is broken because i can't get any other sounds than tom-toms and claves from it.

Several breakbeats i made using sliced samples of cyberia's breaks. Mostly cut&paste in audacity, so i'm not sure of the bpm, but i normally ignore that anyways. . . Processed with overdrive, chebyshev, and various other distortionate effects, and compressed. This is a small toy indian tom tom drum with a heavy cardboard shell and leather skin. Hit with a mallet.

This is the sound the drum makes when one rapidly taps on it with the fingers. --general sample pack desc--samples of my djembe drum, recorded with my mp3 player's mic. Obviously low-fi but it sounds really nice. And some post-processing never hurts anyway.
