Shed door opens, then closed. First with a metallic click to unlock and followed by a long opening creaking door. Once opened there is a plastic rustle and the door closes with an even longer spooky creaking noise. Followed by a clunk when shut and a metallic click to lock the shed door. Silence back and front.

A nice, clean, relaxing clip of running water, recorded at dusk in the seattle area. Recording the clip was not as relaxing as listening to it. I had to stoop down very uncomfortably for nine minutes until i got three minutes with no airplanes, and then i had to walk back to my aunt's house in the dark without a flashlight, though woods full of large spiders. . . The door to the sensory room at the school. I opened it, closed it, and walked into the hall. Part of a collection of sounds i recorded at an elementary school after the students have finished the year--the building was largely empty and as i've worked here, i've noticed a range of interesting sounds that i thought would be useful for folks working with video games or audio dramas! no need to credit me, but would be interested to know what you use it for just out of my own curiosity.

Well, i wanted to do add a sound to my recording of a chicken in a barn. I put the mic (zoom h2 - 4ch-around) outside on the ground and threw some corn around it, so that the chickens will walk around it and hopefully make some noise. The chickens are very chilled, so there are just clucking smoothly and you can hear them walking around. Further there some flies flying close to the mic, some birds and stuff. . . :-).

A very short walk along a river passing through the city of drammen in norway. Ducks, pigeons, seagulls and crows made various sounds and cars passing on a highway bridge could be heard clearly when they passed a joint on the bridge.

Sitting in a grassy lunch area outside a business's parking lot. Birds are chirping in the trees and ambient outdoor noise (air, breeze, distant geese, far off freeway traffic) sounds throughout. A red-winged blackbird calls around 36 seconds in.

I moved the zoom h1 n onto the window sill in the veranda. It picks up the rain beating on the thin plastic roof sheathing above, and on the glass windows next to the window sill. It is rainy weather - january winter rains on vancouver island. It is a hard driving rain. My recollection is that it was about twelve millimeters in one hour. It was wet, the trees grow fast & tall.

Recorded in a small room with the a/c fan running. This was recorded with my olympus pcm recorder. I increased the volume by 10db using audacity.

A broken space heater that clicks. Recorded with a zoom h5 using the onboard xyh-5 capsule to capture a stereo signal and a sennheiser k6/me66 for a mono track. Very minor post processing to balance the stereo/mono and pull the subs out of the side channels.

An endless loop of athmosphere, room or whatever you want to use it to have no absolute silence.
