Recorded in january 2011 waiting for the shinkansen (bullet train) to tokyo at koriyama station in fukushima, japan. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, with a windshield. File has not been modified, just cut short from a longer recording. There are two shinkansen in the recording: one arrives and leaves at the adjacent platform, and one arrives on the immediate platform.

A little thing i came up with while doing some research on how j macis writes music. I recorded this sound at home, in the belgian country during the end of a storm (but there is no thunder sound). You can hear rain falling and a river flowing nearby. Very relaxing and useful if you need a rainy ambient sound. I recorded this simply with a tascam dr-40 (internal mics) and just edit it properly with audacity.

A better recording of the temple bell at the valley of the temples on the windward side of oahu, hawaii. Recorded with a zoom h2n handy recorder. The clinking sound at the end is me putting donation coins in the box after ringing the bell. This is the custom in japan and elsewhere.

This long recording was taken aboard the odoriko super view train from ito city bound for atami. You can hear the conductor's announcements, station arrivals and departures, passenger conversations (in japanese) and, of course, the train itself. The recording is unprocessed and made with a stereo mic pair at a 90 degree incidental angle.
