November 5th 2009. 8pm guy fawkes night. The sound of distant fireworks echoes off trees in a scots pine plantation in rural surrey, england. Recorded on a zoom h2 at 48khz using the front 120˚ microphone.

Stove fire burners ignited one by one (having their drip bowls on). Recorded with a zoom h2 positioned in the middle of stove burners. Town fireworks display, including grand finale, recorded in large parking lot of a municipal park very close to where the fireworks were set off. There is quite a bit of natural reverb throughout, and some nice applause from the crowd afterwards.

Fireworks recorded with mkh50+mkh30 ms stereo couple in sound devices 664 during shooting in birobidjan, russian federation. Recorded on the 4th floor of a building facing other buildings 50 meters in front and on the left in a residential area. Nice acoustics from that specific tall housing configuration.

From july 4th, 2019 by the house. Recorded with my yamaha pocketrak and edited on sony vegas. Tracks were duplicated and the last bang was slowed down. Listen how the sound echoes around the hills. This is a foley fireplace. Recorded with the blue snowball ice in audacity. I layered the sounds together using audacity. This recording consists of two tracks of a smarties candy wrapper (for the crackling), one track of sticky-tac being pulled apart (the popping), and one track of jeans being rubbed together for some extra sound. Enjoy!.
