This is a field recording taken in a suburban location in the city of cincinnati just over ten minutes in length. Gear: zoom h6, xyh-6 x/y capsule (120 degree stereo image), rycote windjammer, mounted on a tripod. Please feel free to leave feedback and ratings. Running an electric lawn mower, which sounds similar to a weed eater, over thin grass and weeds and some large dry leaves from a magnolia tree. Recording stops cold.

Suburban early-morning ambiance with rooster, barking dog, and a bevy of distressed, threatened birds. Lovely natural reverb. Heard it as a conversation among animals. Because it's recorded in april (before air conditioning required), early in the morning (no background traffic), there's not much urban background hum. Recorded mono with sennheiser 416 to fostex pd6. 128 kbps. 44. 1 khz. Mp3.

The recording starts with gentle rain and slow thunder rolling across the sky. The thunder is predominantly in the first half of the recording. The rain increases in intensity in the second half, peaking about three-quarters of the way through. Recorded on a sheltered, outdoor stairway, in a suburban location in south-eastern england, in august 2013; using a zoom h2n recorder set on mid-side stereo, at a 120 degree spread. The original recording was heavily edited, to remove traffic, trains, planes and parakeets(!). Some light, occasional, background traffic noise remains, however.

A recording of morning birds and other morning sounds (cars, bicycle) made in barnet england around 6am on a fine day on the 15th june of 2022. As it was near the solstice the sun was already up. The recording was made by poking a zoom h5 portable recorder outside a third story loft window. The microphones are the stereo pair included with that unit, with a windjammer.

Some atmos i took for a recent video. I didn't edit out me fumbling with the mic (tascam dr07) but it's a solid 2 minutes of outside sounds. You can hear little drops of rain and a wind chime, as well as cars driving through puddles down the street.

I recorded this in my back yard. Birds can be heard, as well as children playing. The sound of a distant train horn can be heard. An airplane passes overhead. The neighbor's swimming pool filter is faintly audible. Recorded with a zoom h1.
