Thunderstorm with three distinct peals. Birds occasionally audible in background.

Early spring thunderstorm in north central oklahoma recorded on 05/02/2018 starting at about 9:30 pm cdt. Recorded in the middle of the country by placing a mic outside the man cave window of my house. The storm starts with light rain and some medium distance thunder. At about 4:00 mins the wind starts to pick up and by 5 mins the wind sound drowns out everything else (50-60 mph gusts). By 6:00 mins the wind is fading as the storm front passes. By 9:00 mins it’s just soft rain and occasional thunder. At about 13:00 mins, the thunder starts picking up a bit. At about 17:00 mins it starts raining harder again, with occasional thunder, until the end. A couple of human noises were edited out, and noise reduction was applied.

A light rain storm being recorded in the suburbs. Light city sounds can be heard as well as a distant siren.

A sudden spring rain storm recorded indoor in a courtyard, so it contains some natural reverb. It also contains a heavy thunder in the middle. Please, excuse the quality, it was suddenly recorded with a mobile just when it happened.

Let it rain thunder is a sample of the passing of a storm recorded in late 2014 sydney australia. It is a 14 minute mp3 that features the sound of rain gradually getting stronger and stronger before sounds of rolling thunder and cracking thunder and the sound of rain fading out.

6-minute clip of a thunderstorm with sweeping rainfall in the grass and trees of my back yard in northern colorado. Sounds of annoyed crows and grackles can be heard periodically in the distance, and the ambient sound of water through the gutters and downspouts is also prevalent. Recorded with h4n pro with 90deg mic orientation in front of my house. I used diy deadcat, but you can still hear a little bit of wind rumble. Kinda relaxing sound tho.

Walking into a storm.
