Extended recording of myself stomping around in iced-over snow after a storm. Featured sounds are footprints breaking through ice and crunching in the snow underneath, icicles being scraped across the icy snow surface, and bits of ice being thrown across the ice-covered snow surface and skittering away.

Among the birds that you hear, juncoes, and the beautiful little white-crowned sparrow -- the white-crown's song -- towards the end of this recording - is more melodic that his neighbors. Recorded on christmas day of 2015 in a beautiful abandoned farm field which provides great habitat and food for the midwest's winter visitors. Recording made on a cloudy 40-degree day with a sony pcm-m10.

A stark recording of a bunch of northwest winds whipping through a small town. This was recorded in december 17th 2013 during the height of the frenzy of the holiday season. I think that it why i enjoy this recording so much -- the lonely yet comforting desolate wind in contrast to the frenetic sensory overload that the holidays can sometimes be. The wind chimes are a nice touch too. Recorded on my front porch using my zoom h4n recorder and it's internal stereo microphones with the record volume on 80.

Cta "l" trains audible at the nearby thorndale red line stop. Mic: core sound tetramicrecorder: zoom f8. Converted to b format using vvtetravst, then processed to stereo as wide cardioids at + and - 45 degrees using ambisonics toolkit (atk). Light noise reduction applied using izotope rx 7 spectral de-noise. High pass filter applied to reduce low end rumble. Some editing done to remove wind buffeting. Hear the sound of the waves of sea, as they hit the rocks of beach. Its a cold winter, and that sound of sea bring in mind the most obscured - deepest cold beach.

This recording was made in my backyard. I live in virginia beach. I do a lot of nature filming in high noise areas; areas such as gardens near airports. I will, many times, use the sound from my backyard as opposed to the camera sound.

Recording of parakeets being loud in springfield park in easy london at 7:30am in november. This was an unintentional recording as i was testing out some new gear, this meant that i wasn't able to unclip the mics from my rucksack straps and avoid picking up the rustle of my clothes and some breathing. A train and canal boat engines can be heard in the background. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. A recording of me walking through the snow which was fairly soft fluffy snow. There are also some places in the recording where i step on some brittle ice which crunches cracks louder.

A recording of strong north winds gusting through a neighborhood. You'll hear leaves ratttling, the flapping of a big tarp, dogs in the background far away, and, one of my favorites, wind chimes. The jingling wind chimes really get going towards the end of the recording. Occassionally a loud car drives by. I sat my handy zoom h4n recorder on my front porch for this one and used the internal microphones with record volume at 80. .
