"correfocs (catalan pronunciation: [ˌkorəˈfɔks], western catalan: [ˌkoreˈfɔks]); literally in english "fire-runs") are among the most striking features present in catalan festivals. In the correfoc, a group of individuals will dress as devils and light fireworks - fixed on devil's pitchforks or strung above the route. Dancing to the sound of a rhythmic drum group, they set off their fireworks among crowds of spectators. The spectators that participate dress to protect themselves against small burns and attempt to get as close as possible to the devils. . . Running with the fire. Other spectators will watch from 'safe' distances, rapidly retreating as necessary. ".

I start with a standard reese, next i add a low-pass filter with some attack and a high resonance. Good for drum&bass tracks.

This is a beat i made for a d'n'b project i was working on. Its been eq'ed and compressed quite a bit to get the drums slamming(like pendulum!!!).

Just a mixture of multiple samples i created over time. Layering a swish noise which was basically a white noise sample with an eq envelope, lowpassed snare, and a not-so-highpassed clap, compressed and saturated. Enjoy!.

High hat loop from sps 1 machinedrum.

I used bdx for the kick, sent through disto-fx and various eq plugins. Cymbalistic was used for the hihats, with further eq and gating placed on it. The snare was from a free sample pack (i can't remember the name of) sent through a resonator, eq plugins and some soft-clippers to give it a bigger sound. Clipmax was used on the master channel.

A looped ride cymbal recorded with a compressor microphone placed within inches of the cymbal. Very rich, full sound.

A low quality simple drum loop at 85 bpm.

Heavily processed, strongly compressed, tight and bright punchy tekky snare sound nice for producing technoid-neurofunk drum-n-bass.

Mix of a recording of drums, recorded through a preamp. Reverb and effects added in cubase.

A reverse 20" mapex ride cymbal. Captured with a sure sm57. Noticeable lack of high end, however, it can still be used for song intros etc. (no reverb or any other effects were added to this sound).

This is a kick sample that i compressed, equalized, and mastered myself. Although i have put a dubstep tag on this kick since i used it in a dubstep song, feel free to utilize it for whatever kind of track you're making!. Enjoy :). -dv beats.

This is the first project i created for my digital media class at uf looping random sounds. It doesn't exactly keep in beat, but it sounds pretty cool. :).
