General engine shutdown--another sound made with my remote-controlled helicopter.

I was playing around with a mic i borrowed from my school when this little plane flew over my house. I quickly opened my window and recorded this sound. You can also hear some birds and kids playing (i live near a school). The sound is heavily gained so you should hear some noise.

This sound was recording while standing against the fence at the burbank/hollywood (formerly bob hope) airport. I was standing in the direct path of the plane as it passed over me at about 60 feet.

Recorded on the san francisco side of alcatraz island, 08/25/2015. Recorder was placed on the railing on the back side of the yard above the staircase. A clear day, with plenty of water birds and gulls. Some tourists speaking various languages throughout. . . Some asking about the 'microphone'. This recording also catches the sf noon siren and a sea plane flying toward the end. My windjammer wasn't quite enough for the wind, so there's some rumble, but it can be cleaned up. This is a pilatus pc6 swiss made plane commonly uses for freight and in this configuration used to transport skydivers into the air where they are jumping out at 4000 meters (13123 ft). 96khz 24bit stereo.

A nice & sunny recording session at the airport! positioned right at the flight path of departing planes, this served as a test recording for the tascam dr-40x. At some point during the session i decided to point the recorder straight up, instead of towards the planes themselves, creating a nice stereo "pass-by" effect.

For the recording, i used the tree-ear method, holding the microphones on either side of a tree, which results in a very wide stereo field (considering the capsules are omni). It was recorded in my backyard on a winter day which was actually more like a spring day.

This is a recording of all in-flight announcements from a flight attendant, the first officer and captain during a flight from atlanta to new york on august 17, 2018, recorded directly from the headphone jack at my seat with a zoom h1n. Each clip is separated by a few seconds of silence. For authenticity, i left all the dc voltage spikes and electronic noise in place. This may be useful if you want an authentic announcement without the acoustics, i. E. Use your own speaker sims or impulse responses to fit into an existing sound design environment.
