This is a recording of my friend playing jaws harp processed with the ethereal eventide blackhole reverb.

This is a vargan (jaw harp) sample (16 bit / 44100 hz/. Wav). This sample was recorded by myself in 2017 in the north-west of sakhalin with the aid of michail chayka (a nivkh musician who played jaw harp) and his mother n. K. Chayka.

Murchunga (nepali: मुर्चुङ्गा) is one of the ancient musical instrument as jaw harp. This collection is a sample sound from one-particular instrument that comes pre-tuned to a scale when crafted. And the device being too tiny to produce the sound signal, it was difficult to record the full length and frequencies. There could be other better sounds from a professional recorder. It just gives an idea of how it hears.

In these recordings i am only using the swarmandal (harp) part. It is tuned to c sharp, but i have dropped the fourth note (f sharp) out of the scale. There are four packs with lots of recordings in them, strums, plucks, short improvisations. "short melodic statements" are 1-2 bars. "riffs" are 2-4 bars. "melodies" are about 30 seconds and "runs and flutters" speaks for itself. There is recording of tuning up the swarmandal in the melodies pack. The snippets were taken from recordings done on three different days so you may notice a slight difference in volume and background noise. A couple of the recordings have some ambient noise (bird tweets, wind chimes,)some of the melodies are based around a similar theme but have enough variation to be interesting/useful. Harp player from gambia, africa playing the chora, a typical harp used in gambia or senegal, in western africa, by the so called "griot", a singer, storyteller, singing songs and stories, thus beeing part of the oral tradition of his country and people. The recording was made during the berlin carnival of cultures in the summer of 2011, the harp player and the drummer (djembe) were sitting among the crowd of listeners open air at the bluecher platz. This is what happens when someone is starting to dream about something. I created this harp glissando by using a harp soundfont that i created, also recorded with the sfz player. Feel-free to use this for whatever your making for your films, movies, trailers, music, etc.

Decided to test my mic to record high frequencies)) note that even with a decrease in the loop on the octave (-12). Harmonic signal will sound up to 20 khz. Tune: f2, +25 centrecord gear: ecm 8000, prismsound lyra. .

Recorded about every sound you can get off a chinese guzheng, tuned in d pentatonic. Recorded with blue spark and blue bluebird condenser mics through a scarlett 6i6 interface. No credits necessary but i'd like to hear what you use it in!.
