I made it by recording a huge firework explosion, speeding it up, adding a little bit of modified reverb, and some amplifying. I made this in audacity.

A space-ship laser firing sound with a retro-y 8-bit effect. My work, feel free to use in any way however you'd like. To make this, i used a synth in cubase to get the basic laser sound, then exported to garageband where i applied and tweaked the bitcrusher effect to give it the 8-bit effect.

It's a strange sound a candle was making while lit. I've pushed three burnt-off matches as a replacement for the wick, and they created such a shape of flame, that was "pumping" creating a strange buzzing sound. Recorded with a zoom h2.

Recording of my own fireplace made with a tascam dr-40 (internal mics). I blasted up the lower freqs, kept the mid-range close to 0, then from 5-16 khz went back way up, slowly tapering down to below zero for the highest frequencies. All editing done in audacity, compressed using soundkonverter in linux. This is a good sound effect for either a bonfire or a house burning down, which is what i made it for.

A bit of sounddesign.

Something i threw together for a personal project i was working on. I couldn't find any high quality samples of a dragon so i decided to make my own. This was created using ableton and contains the following sounds:a dog growlinga lion roara horse gruntingan elephant vocalisinga flamethrower sound. All sounds used were obtained from royalty free websites and manipulated using software so that the original samples are not identifiable. The combining, layering and processing of the sounds were all done by myself within my daw. I hope those of you who find this are able to make great use of it. If you want to use these sorts of sounds (good for games or video), remeber adding reverb back is the trick to making the sound big again.
